What do you like best about Guideline?

Guideline is integrated with Gusto, which we use for payroll. Unlike our previous 401(k) administrator, who charged us thousands, plus fees for every employee action, and who made us -- specifically me -- do much of the work on Form 5500 and other filings, Guideline actually handles as much as it can, and offers a quite user-friendly web portal for steps where employees and administrator(s) must make choices. What do you dislike about Guideline?

The only issue with Guideline, compared to our former 401(k) plan with brokerage accounts at Charles Schwab, is a limited selection of Vanguard funds where employees can choose to invest. But this set of funds does an excellent job of covering the "investment universe", and Guideline supports both recommended allocations and employee selection of individual funds and percentages. What problems is Guideline solving and how is that benefiting you?

Guideline does a very good job of both 401(k) administration and compliance, and support for employees in managing their 401(k) accounts. Guideline handles many steps (e.g. deduction and investment of employer and employee contributions after each payroll run, filing Form 5500 and other compliance) and offers a quite user-friendly web portal for steps where employees and administrator(s) must make choices. What do you like best about Guideline?

I like the integration with our payroll company. Unlike the previous 401k provider where we had to manually enter and transfer every payroll period. I also like the electronic enrollment feature. This takes the burden off our small office to make sure employees are eligible and remind them. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Guideline?

I wish there was more options with picking the investment accounts. You basically answer a few questions and they select the investments based on the few questions. I wish there was more options to the user than they have. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Guideline?

We signed up for Guideline based on a referral from our payroll software company. The easy integration of Guideline was a major part of the decision, but the ease of use for our company and our employees is by far the best part of it. Implementing Guideline was very easy and just required a few steps. Guideline has made it easy to add employees over the years, as well as getting reports and making adjustments. We have only had to contact support 2 times in several years of use and their customer support was professional and quick to resolve our issues each time. While we may only utilize the interface periodically, our users use their site monthly to track changes in their accounts and to generate reports. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Guideline?

It was so easy to integrate into our payroll system. Absolutly seamless. Guideline directly contacts the employee after their waiting period and enrolls them. They also have great information for employees new to participating in a 401k plan, and a nice video link I use in my benefit summary. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Guideline?

Working with Guideline has been super easy and efficient. I was able to integrate it into my QuickBooks online fairly quick. Once setup QuickBooks payroll takes care of everything. Their website is easy to navigate and find the information you're looking for. Options for mutual funds was enough and comparable to other 401k's I have had in the past. What do you like best about Guideline?

I like how easy it is to get started. The online form only took 15 to 20min online. The implementation after that took maybe an hour to set us up for processing through payroll from our Gusto integration. We only have a few employees and have this to be a great fit! What do you dislike about Guideline?

Companies with a larger pool of employees who want to really customize their 401k investments could find Guideline limiting in their availability. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Guideline?

While the Guideline platform is user-friendly and is fully integrated with our payroll system (Paylocity), it is their service that really stands out. As a plan administrator, every time that I call into Guideline, I receive an account representative who is thoroughly knowledgeable (serioulsy, some of the most knowledgeable support reps I have ever spoken with at any company), seems genuinely caring and enthusiastic, and is always willing to see a problem through to resolution, no matter how small or how challenging. What do you dislike about Guideline?

Now that we have a 360 degree integration with payroll, nothing. Even the plan audit has been seamless with one of Guideline's recommended auditors. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Guideline solving and how is that benefiting you?

Guideline is interactive and user-friendly and allows me to commit minimal resources to trying to make the platform work - it just does. Our employees are able to update their contributions and the system syncs to the payroll system over night so that payroll never misses a modification.

The support representatives have been helpful in setting up my plan and plan document to include the provisions I wanted, and on top of that, they have transparent pricing and do not charge for every little transaction. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The monthly cost of Guideline can be steep for having just 1 - 3 employees enrolled; and Guideline auto-enrolls employees when they join our payroll system, which means they have to unenroll within a certain deadline before money is pulled from their check.
