I can save all my work and access it anywhere. Sometimes I might not have access to a PC, but I can still get all my info from my phone and can solve critical challenges. Meanwhile all my data is secure. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Limits on the cloud shell are pretty harsh. Obviously, it's not the right solution to use as a personal remote device as it's not the purpose it servers. Yet I miss the storage space and computational power to run more tasks on it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I am using this cloud shell not for hosting or managing servers but for doing my net and memory extensive tasks for free. It provides the following things for free:
- You are getting 16 GB of RAM
- A high-speed internet connectivity (123MBPS download and 13.26MBPS upload)
- A decent 4 core Intel XEON CPU
- Code editor with terminal Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It provides is sufficient to carry out various tasks from a very low-end network device with decent connectivity. A few things I would appreciate are more disk space and a bit more usage quota per week, which is currently limited to 50hrs (7hrs 8min daily approx). There is also a time limit for inactivity after which it get disconnected if we didnt interact with it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The glcoud command copy and paste on the shell is a convinient way to SSH into the VM. It has all the latest plugins integreated so easy to deploy them. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
They change very frequently but not because of gcloud but anything in cloud business needs to move faster. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I like most because I can access and manage the resources in the GCP platform in a few commands. It saves time since we don't have to go through user interfaces for every task. It's efficient and straightforward to use. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Sometimes it gets a bit confusing since I couldn't see the resources in UI's, but it's okay once I get familiar with the shell. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Can deploy the services with out the console.
For temporary file storage.
We can develop our applications in the GCP using cloud shell.
A Linux box for small application developement. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The storage is main disadvantage. It provides very less storage. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The best part which I like is this amazing feature of Google which helps you to run your scripts and task you need to perform from Command line. You do not have to install any SDK or modules and this is free feature of Google cloud. Google cloud gives you 5GB of persistent storage and on the Linux VM at the backend for which you are not charged. This helps you to run the small amount of workload or probably Batch processing which is great. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Well if you have large workloads then you probably should not work with Cloud shell as this will impact the performance and the session will automatically terminate because you get only 5GB persistent storage. another dislike which comes in my mind is if your session is idle for 1 hour the session will again terminate and you will have to launch the cloud shell again. Also if you are new to Linux then you might probably have to learn bit of Linux commands and get the Hands on before using Google cloud shell Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Google's outdone themselves with this neat little nugget of functionality, tucked away in the cloud console. By and large, one of the most useful tools for a provisioner and maintainer of Google Cloud services while on the go, or away from your typical workstation environment.
Google Cloud Shell comes with tons of utilities baked in and ready to roll, like the gcloud CLI tool, support for Golang (which makes running quick scripts a breeze), and recently, a new IDE for code editing in the browser. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Coming from a previous Windows workstation environment, some keystrokes I've had to adopt for copy/paste don't work entirely as expected out of the box in some use cases. And while I've never hit it myself, I wish there was a more gratuitous quota.
I'd like to see further expansions to the IDE, such as GitHub integration, akin to C9.io's implementation in the past. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Google Cloud Shell has made it simple to connect to my devices in my Google Compute Engine environment. I keep my access bookmarked in the browser and can log into it from wherever I need to in order to securely access my virtual machines. It seems to be very lightweight and once you're logged in, it is quick to respond. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
This is one of the things they mention right away, but it can sometimes take 15, 20, or even 30 seconds to initialize if you have not accessed the Cloud Shell in a long time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
