Google Cloud Operations Reviews

I use mainly Cloud Logging and Tracing, and I like the provided APIs and provided documentation. They are very concise and easy to use.

I like the filtering on the logging interface. Although I sometimes prefer to use the old UI (maybe due to habit)

I like how easy it is to use Cloud Tracing together with OpenCensus. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Some things that I would like to see improved:

Tracing for multi threading and asynchronous operations

Maybe an improvement in the trace viewer. For example:

- the first few times I could not wrap my head around the time measurement graphs)

- the hide button for traces doesn't really make sense in how it works. It's shown on the same level as it's child elements, which sometimes leads me to hide traces I want to examine. I'd like to see a design where it is more clear if a trace is a child Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Google cloud function is a fantastic serverless computing service, that I've found useful for handling event-driven tasks. The simplicity is what I like most, without worrying about managing servers, just write your function, deploy and leave the rest to Google to handle it. It's extraordinary for lightweight tasks like processing real time events, automating workflow or integrating with other GC services. The scalability is also impressive, functions being able to scale automaticlly, reducing cost based on usage only, which actually is cost effective. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Altough with all the postives, there are few drawbacks too. There is a long learning curve for someone wants to try. It's easy to set up simple functions, but things are tricky when it comes to managing complex project. Debugging and logging system is functional but clunky at times. Troublesome integrating with other ecosystem other than google. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I liked the Services like Cloud Run, Cloud Run functions, BigQuery, VPN Gateways , VPC Access connector, App Engine. Also the Cloud DNS service is an amazing thing to ensure more security with the resources and Concept of Project is another intresting factors when comparing to AWS or Azure Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I Faced some challenges mostly with App engine and IAM , i didn't feel easiness in these areas. Also the authenication part is bit complex and not quite easy Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The search functionality is genuinely helpful - being able to quickly search across all GCP services, projects, and resources from a single search bar saves tons of time. It's smart enough to understand what you're looking for even with partial terms.

The IAM interface is clear and helpful. The audit log interface is great for incident investigation. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Error messages are often unhelpful and vague without actionable information. Session timeout can be aggressive and annoying. Performance can be lackluster, especially when loading large resource lists or logs. The UI is constantly changing - features and buttons move around frequently, and the navigation gets reorganized without warning. Just when you get used to where everything is, they change it again. I have used google cloud for atleat 1 year.

Its UI is more clear and intituite

Google clouds network infrastrucure is unmatched.

Google could is leader in big data and analytics because of BigQuery which fasr, reliable and sacaleable.

Its documentaion is still improving and and it have to scale their region and avaialabilty zones. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Scalability and integration with other services like Google Workspace, BigQuery,Google Analytics, Google cloud logs explorer make the life easier. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I am working on Mahindra as cloud engineer , all use case that we have on our company I will work on , like deploy application on Compute instance , GKE and pass servcie cloud run also . and data analytic part : we used cloud composer , big query , data proc cluster .. as storage we use cloud spanner , gcs , sql .. at ui and servcie side google cloud is ok , Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
