A killer product that most cloud platforms can't match is BigQuery. But overall the interfaces are easy to use, the cli tools are oustanding and new products and improvements launch incredibly often. The prices has definitly gone up the last couple of years. Google Cloud use to be the cheaper Cloud, but has gotten more expensive every year. I guess it's inevitable but it's tough when youre already locked in. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Google Cloud IAP has helped us remove the networking complexity of a VPN and here are some of the other things that I like best

- It's absolutely free to use which would otherwise cost a lot more to configure and use. For example, Auth0 and Okta, also can't be used for internal google resources without a VPN

- Dead simple configuration and maintenance

- Zero user management by leveraging google accounts

- Authorization is a breeze for fine-grained user-level access to the resources

- Support for SSO applications and SAML

FWIW, by design, IAP works best for resources within Google Cloud and if need be, we need to use some proxy services if we want to use internal resources that are not hosted on Google Cloud. It's about time Google builds a simple proxy around IAP to add and use resources that are not within the Google Cloud. There are connectors that can work with Cloud VPN but it's way too complex and can be simplified. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Google Identity-Aware Proxy was invaluable for our networking endeavours to bring all our experiments into remote working during covid. The security afforded by this allows us to network our research for easy remote access, thus keeping our staff safe. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

We love how IAP eliminates the need for a VPN and is widely used in many of our internal tools and apps. It also has an excellent reputation since Google uses IAP instead of VPNs which can be a bit cumbersome. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Setting up IAP takes time, and automating it takes even longer (granted that setting up a VPN would take longer). IAP requires a lot of additional components and needs more configurations when setting it up across multiple solutions Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Google Identity aware proxy or IAP is best in market to secure unauthorised access to application either hosted on cloud or on premise. GCP intelligently have a different module of IAP which takes care of authorised users only by making inspection to deliver technology edge security level. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

IAP is offered as a different service which is not part of GCP bundle or one solution which makes it difficult to procure on cost basis at times. Sometimes on VMs user authentication is inaccurate but free trial is available to run tests before deployment or taking paid services before production which is a plus point. It provides access control on our cloud-based & on-premise-based Applications & VMs running in the Google Cloud environment.

I have been working on GCP for couple of years now and all the critical applications are hosted here. With IAP, we have complete security protection across our applications and cloud resources starting from user access, private VMs etc. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Honestly our platform and security team have using this for quite some time as our entire workload is on GCP.On the pricing side, I feel it can be little more flexible , otherwise the features it offer keep your platform secured. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The most important quality is the time consumption its so much faster to get secure access to the apps that it takes to set up a VPN. It has better granular access control policies Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
