Really robust and complete feature set
Team that contributes a lot to the embedded firmware ecosystem
Lots of great guides and helpful staff happy to jump on a call and assist and take the time to understand the use case
Clear that the Golioth team has a wealth of experience backing their technical design and decision making Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The only downside to Golioth is they don't officially support the Arduino framework for the ESP32, meaning our codebase had to be migrated to esp-idf which was too much overhead for our small team. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
- For what you can do with it, which is a huge amount, the interfaces have been made really easy to use.
- The data included with the free plan is a useful amount for development.
- Great, open-source examples and templates to follow and build your own project from. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The Zephyr dependency can be a steep kerb to climb if you aren't already familiar with it but it totally makes sense why Zephyr has been chosen as the foundation for Golioth. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Compatibility with state of the art OSes with Zephyr, with over the air support. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The boilerplate required to provision devices with support for the solution. Also it creates a full dependency on cloud for all management. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Flexibility. We are able to send data to multple cloud services, visualuze data and have freedom to decide where we want to store the data. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Had many issues setting up the esp32-s3 using the arduino framwork as the guides were outdated. Which was very unfortunate as the platform and its features fit our needs perfectly otherwise. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Major support to Linux distribution (e.g
, raspberry pi and similarities).
Possibility in the future to update not only firmware application data but also user data on the device. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I really like Golioth because they have a clean and clear platform with a lot of training for new developers. This really helps us to dig deeper into zephyr RTOS and its powerfull tools. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I think they need to add more documentation, Also adding a youtube training channel is a very nice idea for new developers. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It is easy to use and the tutorials are well written. Greatly speeds up the IoT development process. The team provides quick support to users through their Discord server. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Sometimes the tutorials don't explain things step by step, so when following them some issues may occur. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It's existance to us, easy going dvelopers who want to do things ar habd! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I am not sure weather this is a problem of Golioth, but I face it when I have started using Golioth. For example, it is still not under my hood, I am still learning to eventually get it done, maybe I have too much on my plate, anyway, its a new context to swollow, but not impossible to be sure! In short, the manuals could be shorter, easier to get going for novice player like me, for example. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Since Golioth provides an all-in-one platform that takes the complexity out of IoT management, it makes easier for developers to focus on innovation and application-specific needs instead of backend infrastructure which is very interesting. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I would say pricing for large-scale deployments Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I liked that the pricing was free for individual use. Allowing ease of testing and product evaluation to see if golioth was a good resource in the future. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Hesistant about the data collection going on. I haven't looked into it a ton since I haven't spent extensive time using it and won't be using it for production, howver, this could be a concern. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
