## SAP Business Technology Platform Reviews
  ### 1. Powerful Integration and Extensions, but Deployment and Customization Can Get Complex

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Arkajit D. | Chief Technology Officer, Information Technology and Services, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 12, 2026

**What do you like best about SAP Business Technology Platform?**

The aspect of SAP Business Technology Platform that I like the most is the effective use of its capabilities to integrate fragmented enterprise systems into a unified operational layer without requiring complete overhauls of existing infrastructure.

In the specific case study related to the fintech industry, the primary problem was that such core aspects as customer onboarding, transaction monitoring, compliance procedures, and reporting were handled by different and isolated software solutions. This caused the constant struggle of teams with data synchronization issues between systems. SAP BTP made it possible to implement an integrated platform for transferring data between core business applications, analytics tools, and operational dashboards. However, what caught my attention is not only the ability to integrate different systems but also the simplicity it provided for operational processes within an organization.

One other point that I valued highly was the ability to create extensions and automate workflows. In many cases, when working with large corporations, it may be extremely challenging to perform any modifications of the core ERP system. However, SAP BTP allows creating extensions without significantly interfering with the core system which was very helpful when working with frequently changing regulations and business requirements.

**What do you dislike about SAP Business Technology Platform?**

The main problem with SAP Business Technology Platform relates to the high level of complexity when it comes to its deployment and further maintenance of the ecosystem.

For instance, in the context of fintech, the task related to compliance operation, transaction reporting, and customer lifecycle workflow integration into SAP BTP was successfully solved by means of implementing many legacy systems into the system. Nevertheless, the process was significantly more demanding on the resources than had been expected at the initial stages of implementation.

Additionally, one of the downsides of this solution could be considered the possibility to customize the system extensively, which can result in high costs in terms of managing processes and dependencies between different elements of the ecosystem in the future.

The challenge here relates to the fact that while solving business needs, teams tend to create a large number of customized workflows and integrations, which can then become hard to manage when the product and other compliance requirements change frequently.

**What problems is SAP Business Technology Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?**

SAP Business Technology Platform (SAP BTP) is helping solve the challenge of disconnects between systems, disjointed workflows, and inconsistent visibility in enterprise-level operations.

In a fintech environment, customer onboarding, compliance checks, transaction monitoring, and report generation were all being performed using different independent systems. As such, there would be a lot of work spent reconciling data between systems since updates in one system would not automatically reflect changes across other systems. Such a setup brought about inefficiencies and made the compliance checking and auditing process quite dependent on manual intervention.

Using SAP BTP, it was possible to integrate and coordinate operations between various applications, including the core business applications and the analytics systems. In place of setting up connections and integrations from one system to another, it was possible to streamline data transfers and automate workflows using the platform. The best part of that was operational efficiency and reliability data consistency was improved, reporting processes became easier to undertake, and it was no longer necessary to deal with fragmented processes.

Apart from improved synchronization, SAP BTP was also able to help with process automation for many of the compliance-related and internal processes involving workflows that cut through many departments and legacy systems.

**What do you like best about SAP Business Technology Platform?**

During my internship at Tata Consultancy Services, I had the opportunity to work on an AI-based solution for the financial sector, and SAP BTP was one of the platforms we used. What stood out to me was how easy it was to get started and how well everything was organized. The user interface was clean, and the onboarding documentation guided us through setup without needing constant support.

We were able to deploy intelligent workflows quickly using Business Application Studio. I really liked the fact that we could connect different data sources and systems using Integration Suite without writing a lot of custom code. Features like the SAP HANA Cloud database and workflow services helped us scale and automate tasks efficiently. The real strength of BTP is in how it brings everything together under one roof, from development to deployment, with strong governance and security features in place. It made working with enterprise-level data much simpler than I expected.

**What do you dislike about SAP Business Technology Platform?**

Some parts of the platform, like setting up entitlements or working across multiple subaccounts, were not very intuitive at first. Although the platform offers excellent documentation, it can feel scattered and sometimes hard to follow when dealing with complex implementations. Also, monitoring the cost and consumption across different services required some manual effort, especially when working in teams across different regions or projects. Once we became familiar with the environment, it got better, but the learning curve in the beginning was a challenge.

**What problems is SAP Business Technology Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?**

During my internship at Tata Consultancy Services, we were building AI-powered solutions for the banking sector. SAP BTP helped us solve the challenge of integrating various data sources and services across legacy and modern systems. It allowed us to streamline business processes through workflow automation and gave us access to real-time data for our models. The platform saved development time, reduced the complexity of our cloud architecture, and allowed our team to focus on delivering value to our clients instead of managing infrastructure.

  ### 41. Flexible platform that brings data and applications together

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Vasudeva Rao K. | Associate (Part-time), Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**What do you like best about SAP Business Technology Platform?**

What I like most about SAP BTP is how it brings everything. Data, applications, and services into one platform. It makes it easier to build, extend, and integrate applications without needing to switch between different tools. The pre-built services, especially for analytics and integration, save a lot of setup time. I also found the real-time data access and connection with SAP systems to be very reliable, easy to implement, which helps keep everything aligned across teams.

**What do you dislike about SAP Business Technology Platform?**

One downside of SAP BTP is the complexity when you're just getting started. The learning curve can be steep, especially if you're not already familiar with SAP’s ecosystem. Some services and tools aren’t always clearly documented, which can slow down development or integration work. It’s powerful once you understand how everything fits together, but getting to that point takes some time and effort.

**What problems is SAP Business Technology Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use SAP BTP to develop and deploy custom applications in the cloud, automate repetitive processes through RPA, and manage infrastructure without heavy on-prem setups. It helps reduce the time and cost involved in building and scaling business solutions. By automating routine tasks, we've been able to increase team efficiency and free up resources for more strategic work. Having everything integrated within SAP's ecosystem also helps ensure smoother data flow between systems and reduces manual errors.

  ### 42. Streamlined AI-Driven Healthcare Data Pipelines with SAP BTP

**What do you like best about SAP Business Technology Platform?**

During my time at AGS Health, I was part of a team focused on building AI-powered systems to analyze complex healthcare data. We integrated SAP BTP into our cloud infrastructure to enhance our data engineering workflows. What stood out to me was how SAP BTP simplified the orchestration between data ingestion, transformation, and modeling.

The flexibility of the platform allowed us to connect our AWS-hosted pipelines (Glue, S3, EMR) with SAP HANA services for real-time analytics. The pre-built connectors, especially for healthcare systems and EMRs, were a major time-saver. Also, the way it integrates with machine learning workflows using SAP AI Core made experimentation and deployment smoother.

Overall, BTP gave our ML pipelines a scalable, secure, and business-aligned foundation that supported both rapid iteration and governance.

**What do you dislike about SAP Business Technology Platform?**

The learning curve was initially steep, especially for developers like me coming from an open-source-heavy background (TensorFlow, PyTorch, etc.). Understanding how to efficiently navigate the SAP ecosystem — from managing authorizations to deploying on SAP AI Core — took a while and required dedicated ramp-up time.

Additionally, some services felt overly abstracted, limiting our ability to fine-tune certain pipelines compared to tools like Airflow or SageMaker. Lastly, pricing transparency and forecasting could have been better — understanding the long-term cost of data storage and compute usage wasn’t always intuitive.

**What problems is SAP Business Technology Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?**

At AGS Health, I was involved in building AI-enabled systems to process and analyze large volumes of healthcare data. One major challenge we faced was efficiently integrating heterogeneous data sources, EHRs, insurance data, and patient records, while ensuring scalability and compliance.

SAP BTP played a key role in solving these integration and automation challenges. We used it as a PaaS to centralize our data pipeline logic and reduce fragmentation across tools. Its automation capabilities helped us implement event-driven workflows that significantly reduced manual intervention, especially in report generation and compliance tasks.

The platform also enabled rapid prototyping through its low-code tools, allowing non-developers on our team to contribute to data flow logic, this improved collaboration and reduced development turnaround. The biggest benefit was faster delivery of predictive insights to medical staff, improving patient outcomes and operational efficiency.

**What do you like best about SAP Business Technology Platform?**

What I like best about SAP BTP is that it unifies data, integration, and innovation in one platform. It removes complexity, lets you build and extend solutions quickly, and balances low-code ease with enterprise-grade flexibility.

**What do you dislike about SAP Business Technology Platform?**

What I dislike about SAP BTP is that it can feel complex and overwhelming at first—there are many services, licensing models, and technical layers to navigate. This sometimes makes it harder for new users or business teams to see quick value without strong technical support.

**What problems is SAP Business Technology Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?**

SAP Business Technology Platform is solving the challenge of connecting systems, managing data, and innovating on top of core ERP without heavy customisation. With CPI (Cloud Platform Integration), it streamlines integration across SAP and non-SAP systems, reducing manual effort and ensuring data consistency. For me, this means fewer integration headaches, faster development of custom applications, and the ability to deliver solutions that are both agile and enterprise-ready. It ultimately saves time, reduces errors, and makes it easier to respond to business needs quickly.

  ### 49. SAP After-Sales Order & Revenue Management

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** sebastian c. | Network Development Specialist, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 04, 2025

**What do you like best about SAP Business Technology Platform?**

The platform's greatest strength is the seamless Ease of Integration between its vast Number of Features. In the automotive after-sales sector, we don't just use isolated tools; we rely on a connected ecosystem. SAP excels at this by ensuring that the module for receiving spare parts orders, the inventory management system, and the financial analysis tools all communicate flawlessly. This creates a single, reliable source of truth. The extensive Number of Features means we have a specific tool for every step, from tracking a single part number to generating complex revenue reports, and the integration ensures data consistency across all of them.

**What do you dislike about SAP Business Technology Platform?**

The primary downside is ironically a consequence of its extensive Number of Features. While this makes the platform powerful, it also creates a steep learning curve and can make the user interface feel cluttered and unintuitive for specialized roles. For tasks like processing a spare parts order or pulling a standard report, a user has to navigate through a system designed to do everything, which can hinder efficiency. This complexity often means that leveraging the full potential of its Ease of Integration with other systems requires dedicated specialists, creating a bottleneck for more routine analytical tasks.

**What problems is SAP Business Technology Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?**

SAP is solving the critical business problem of data fragmentation and lack of real-time visibility in our automotive after-sales supply chain. Before, order information, warehouse stock, and revenue data were often in separate silos, making comprehensive analysis slow and prone to errors.

The primary benefit is having a single, unified platform to manage the entire lifecycle of a spare part order. This provides us with:

Operational Efficiency: We can receive, process, and track thousands of part orders without manual data consolidation.
Accurate Financial Reporting: It allows us to precisely analyze revenue streams by part category or region, directly from the system.
Improved Inventory Management: Real-time data helps us make better decisions, reducing the risk of overstock or stockouts, which is crucial for keeping vehicles on the road.

  ### 50. Seamless SAP Integration and Reliable Performance

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jay G. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 29, 2025

**What do you like best about SAP Business Technology Platform?**

I like that BTP lets me build and integrate stuff without breaking the core system. Everything’s in one place, it plays nicely with SAP, and it actually works without turning into a mess.

**What do you dislike about SAP Business Technology Platform?**

The part that drives me nuts is how bloated and slow-to-navigate it can feel. BTP has great pieces, but the menus, services, and config steps sometimes feel like they were designed by a committee that never spoke to each other.

**What problems is SAP Business Technology Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It cuts out a lot of the chaos. Instead of juggling random tools, custom hacks, and broken integrations, BTP gives me one place to build stuff, connect systems, and keep data consistent.
