Git gives a version control facility, and it is easy to use. Git is freely available. If on the same project multiple developers are working, then we need to sync the code at the end. In this case, Git will come into the picture. Some basic commands of git Clone, Push, add, commit, push origin master etc.
Git can identify in which code section the developer changes, so whenever you push your code, only changes code section reflects as changed. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I don't feel any dislike in git. it is freely available Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The best thing I like is it allows multiple users on the same project. It is easily connectable from all software. Also, It is an excellent tool for version control. Github pages help in saving a lot of money for open source projects. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Search functionality is very poor. There is a restriction on file size which cannot exceed 100 Mb. It has a steep learning curve. Also for free users it provides very limited private repositories. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The best user-friendly GUI for a good repository maintenance Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
If the Number files affected is in 100s the server is bit slow to load the Pull requests Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Using it since my colleague days. Easy to use. Just we have to do push the code changes whatever you have written at the EOD. Currently using it on my UiPath project. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Nothing as such. Only few things regarding the interface. Little difficult to understand the ui interface while using git first time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Github is very simple to use and intuitive. It supports various platforms like Website and Mobile application. Code and be edited and saved directly from Github itself. The best feature is that we can track our previous activity. It is cloud-based, so no installation is required. It makes collaboration with other developers very easy. Learning how to add code by using Git can be a little tricky and tedious. It becomes confusing sometimes to delete mistakenly uploaded files. Apart from this, I find Github a very useful tool for software development. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

There are multiple segments that I like about Github, and some of them are :
1. It has a very easy-to-learn interface, and for a naive individual, this feature plays a very handy part.
2. A development team can easily push the code and start working synchronously with each team member working and developing on different sectors. With this feature, each member can push their code to GitHub with the changes of remaining members intact. This not only increases the efficiency but also provides great marginal growth.
3. The merging Github provides to each developer is really a treat to have.
4. Github provides a detailed report on one's contribution so that we can have our positives and negatives, which surely helps us to improvise. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Despite of all these positives, there are some factors on which Github lacks, and some of them are :
1. I think the project management feature can be improvised to provide epics which certainly will help the admin to control the project better.
2. The notification for Github tends to lack on some occasions, which creates a lot of trouble sometimes, so I think Github should fix this as soon as possible.
3. One more thing which I shall suggest to Github is to provide a feature to delete unwanted files regularly. Because deleting files on a regular basis makes things a little hectic for the user. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Github makes it easy to keep all historical versions of either a bunch of source code files, or documents, or even binary files. Especially for large project development, it is crucial to keep all these versions so that when an outage happens, we can quickly roll back to the last worked version, and also find who should be responsible for the problematic part, for example, a buggy code snippet. Github also allows multiple people to work together easily. Each person can keep a local copy and upload local changes remotely, without affecting others' work (conflict resolving might be required sometimes). Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Github does not support live edit, like other software like Overleaf. That is to say, when multiple people are editing their local copies simultaneously, there is no guarantee that they are not editing the same part. Conflicts may happen under such scenarios and I find it is generally annoying to resolve conflicts. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Version Controlling is one of the best advantages I found, creating and managing various branches as per the development phase. It also provide option to merge two different branches. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It is problematic when you want to create private repositories. Some of the interesting features are paid, which make me nervous. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I love the Explore page where I can find code repositories relating to languages I write. The developer readme feature is also a nice initiative when showcasing your skillset to visitors. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Nothing really. Github serves all my needs as a developer for now. From workflows to collaboration and the third-party services it provides. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Github is ideally suited to collaborate with team members on projects. The prices are reasonable for enterprises. The pull request and code review features are crucial to any team. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The user interface leaves something to be desired. It feels very outdated. I understand that they have an efficient system with a lot of complexity, but it might be time to update the look and feel of the experience. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
