Integration with Jira is an added advantage Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
GitHub doesn't have any major drawbacks but there are some things which I don't like.
- While GitHub has clear documentation on how to get started, it is not enough for complete beginners.
-The Web version of GitHub can be improved as handling conflict and merge requests is cumbersome Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Github helps to make all the collection of different scripts at a single place and can be shown to other with the person sitting far Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
No as such dislike but would surely like to improve some good supports from it like making some good bots which help us to automate the work easier. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It provides a lot of great features for a development team: we get a lot of use of actions, projects, and teams Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Some features are lacking or have been implemented much later compared to competitors such as GitLab Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

There are so many things I like about GitHub. GitHub has become the standard repository for open-source software, so I find myself perusing source code on the site often. I keep a large number of my public and private repositories on GitHub, and for the most part, I have stopped using BitBucket and Azure DevOps for personal projects. I love that all my development tools integrate with GitHub by default. I use Visual Studio, Visual Studio Code, GoLand, PyCharm, IntelliJ, and WebStorm with GitHub and have never had a problem. GitHub allows you to create personal websites and blogs, all free of charge. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Even though GitHub is the dominant free software hosting platform for a decentralized version control protocol, GitHub itself is centralized, proprietary, for-profit, closed-source, and politically active. Depending on your project type, this may be a huge liability. While I find GitHub great for personal use, I do not think it would be a good fit for my current employer. What I like most about Github is how it allows me to be a better developer in general by being more conscious of my progress in our team's tasks and having easier collaboration. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I can't think of a downside in using Github. Maybe one thing I can squeeze in is how it can do better in its search engine. There are times when terms are not captured in searching. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Github is the standard bearer for source code management tools, and has practically become synonymous with Git. With its rich community that host millions of open source projects and events, Github has continuously striven to make itself better, evidenced by the introduction of in browser IDE Codespaces, continuous improvement of Github Actions, and the newest, most exciting, Github Copilot, which has unreal accuracy in autocompleting code using AI, Github has proven that its stand at the top of source code management platforms is well deserved. For teams seeking more features and security, Github enterprise is also a pocket friendly yet complete solution to leverage on this thirst of betterment that Github has Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Github has confined itself largely to development, source code management and version control, whereas competitor tools like Bitbucket, Gitlab have diversified into a portfolio of products. Bitbucket, owned by Confluence, has JIRA project management which integrates seamlessly with Bitbucket to provide a sophisticated enterprise software development solution. Similarly, Gitlab has pipelines that greatly simplify the software delivery process, and are once again preferred by enterprise development teams. Github should, I believe, also focus on this area. 1.Cloning and downloading code is very easy.
2. Allows user to easily create branches and code review. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
1.Code upload can be faster.
2.User interdependency gets confusing Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I store my projects on Github. The reason I do this is because I have a chance to lose my projects on my computer. But when I upload each of my projects to Github, I can access my projects whenever I want. When I make changes on my project, I can commit. This function gives the opportunity to work with more than one person on the project. I use Github almost every day. Good thing Github! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I think the interface could be improved a little more. Beginners find it difficult at first because its interface seems a bit complicated. But as you use it, you get used to it. It would be perfect if the interface was a little more user friendly. Other than that, I sometimes get minor errors when using the commit and repository functions, but it's not very important. GitHub lets you collaborate, make mistakes, fix mistakes, and keep a critical record of who did what when. It's great when you're developing pretty much anything. I can't believe it's free... Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
GitHub is based on git, which has quite a steep learning curve. The terminology of push, pull, rebase, etc. can be less than intuitive, although it's easy to guess that having your head detached isn't a good thing. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I really like the way you can split work and features using branches and release versions. You can collaborate with remote teams and ensure that projects run smoothly for all members. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There is a learning curve for using it properly. If not, it could be a mess. You would need to do a course to learn how to use it because documentation could be a little abstract for beginners. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
