I can't personally speak for larger corporate entities which seems to be their target audience, but after discovering some github users using GitClear to do tracking of their productivity to help "Gamify" their personal work on projects, I decided to give it a try and it massively increased my motivation. The site is well laid out and the features it has for even the free tier is great for what it provides. Love the visuals as an alternative for my github repo tracker as well as visually seeing how much work I've done in lines of code + time estimations. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Parts of the UI definitely seem a little underbaked and a little confusing at times. It's a little difficult and confusing to customize the viewing of the time scale of your commit history and I can't find a way to view history >90 days which may be an intentional feature? I'd like to see alternative views as well and some novel concepts such as visualizing the size of the project over time with a commit tree showing the project grow over time. I've been thoroughly impressed by GitClear's seamless integration with GitLab, which has made syncing data for investor reports incredibly efficient. The ability to analyse code at a granular level has been invaluable, enabling us to implement impactful changes to our systems. The platform’s user-friendly design has encouraged daily use over the past month, significantly improving our operational insights and strategic decision-making. GitClear has proven to be an indispensable tool for aligning technical and business objectives. I wish I had used it sooner. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
While the platform delivers excellent functionality, I believe there’s room for improvement in its user experience to make navigation more intuitive. That said, Codrin in support has been exceptional, providing prompt and effective assistance, which ensured I could leverage the platform's features fully despite initial challenges. Above all, DiffDelta functions excellently as a metric score for improving development productivity. This gamification is outstanding. We previously used other products claiming to be DORA-based, but due to unstable code line counts, reports with averages weak against outliers, and inflexibility in not providing APIs or CSVs, we considered another product as a last resort. Compared to other expensive services with little academic basis, GitClear felt like it offered reasonable subscription prices and evidence-based reports. When we actually used it, this feeling turned into conviction.
GitClear appropriately makes various reports observable based on the strength of DiffDelta, such as percentile-based peer reports, a commit activity browser that makes it easy to understand the state of engineers, and visualization reports of DiffDelta acceleration to understand the health of source code. We use it for engineer KPI management and confidently recommend it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Occasionally, there are instances where the behavior seems buggy or unstable. However, we can quickly send feedback with screenshots using the "Submit feedback" link button in the header. We usually receive a response by the next business day, and sometimes the issue is resolved on the same day. In this sense, we don't feel it's a significant problem. It helps to track the progress and measure developer productivity along with identification of top performers and tge developers who need help.It helps to provide data driven insights and provides answers to important questions. Its ability to integrate with Jira is also a key highlight Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It can have the ability to pull data from API and then integrate with dashboarding tools such as AWS Quicksight and Power BI enabling further visualisation of the data and draw insights from it Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
We can generate advanced code metrics and use only relevant filters, which helps us remove unrelated changes and noise . It enhances the code review process by identifying and grouping the related changes in one place. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Still a new product, and it feels like a lot of bugs. It hangs sometimes, and UI must be improved to make it feel like an enterprise-standard product. They need to work on UI a lot. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
