Top Rated GeoGebra Alternatives

The range of possibilities and customizability of this mathematics lab is excellent. The interface is point-and-click but also provides a command line with function-oriented programming interface. There is also support for latex input to display mathematical expressions according to conventions. Export to graphical and markdown formats serves me great when creating illustrations for articles and study materials. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The direction Geogebra has been taking recently. Focus on the web app is great for primary and secondary school mathematics and geometry but cannot provide the robustness required for applications in some fields at a university level. Their still provide support and backward compatibility for version 5, though. And that makes me stick to it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

It allows 3D graphing, 2D graphing, polar graphing, and also geometry. It is very versatile and colorful. Very illustrative. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The interface is a bit vague and opens on web only. Resst everything works smoothly. Also, the construction and breakpoints are difficult to understand. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The ability to share and view/edit the work of others. This is HUGE. It's a great tool to show dynamic relationships to students - I typically use it as a demo tool during explanation of a concept. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The organization of all the teacher created boards is not that good. There are a lot of repeats and some poor quality items. I wish Geogebra could curate or at least have "favorites" list for given topics. It's difficult for new teachers to learn. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

GeoGebra is a great maths tool for all levels of education. It is available in many languages for millions of users around the world. Any user can make whatever they need for their students and they don't have to start from scratch. It is an open-source software that lets users to build or adapt their learning experiences to meet their kids' needs. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It is not very easy to use and It takes time for users to learn how to use the geogebra tools. The user-generated content may varies in quality. You need to spend some time to make sure to familiarize yourself with the extensive tutorials in order to use the geogebra effectively. It would be definitely very helpful to my students if they had a better overall understanding of the basics of geogebra software. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I teach Calculus and Vectors. I find that Geogebra allows my students to create and discover as they are learning in addition to come up with conclusions from each task they attempt. The ability to construct what you would like to see in front of you is so powerful and motivating to dig deeper to achieve the best understanding possible. Vectors course is very challenging due to having to visualize in 3D line and planes. GeoGebra makes it so easy and it is very intuitive to use. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Absolutely nothing. I find it very user friendly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Geogebra allows me to conduct Algebra & Geometry experiments immediately. Being able to program in JavaScript & GeogebraScript using geometric primitives makes it a dynamic environment for Mathematics and Geometry learning. I can conduct experiments in Geometry, Differential Equations, Make dynamic feedback based mathematics simulations and questionnaire for students. In short, creating simulated lessons in Geogebra is very easy. Apart from a repertoire of tools, it also allows you to create your own custom tools which can be used to further enhance its capabilities. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
2D Geometry Features of Geogebra are dynamic and easy to use. 3D features are also good but need to evolve further. Also, as the number of vertices or geometry elements keeps on increasing, the software tends to get slightly slow. I also wished that it had rendering capabilities like a professional 3D editing software like Blender. But then it's a CAS tool and not a 3D model making tool. I also have a wishlist of Geogebra being available as a distributed CAS tool so that many mathematics enthusiasts could work on their algebra and geometry problems simultaneously. I love that Geogebra can make mathematics more visual for students. It is relatively intuitive and easy to learn. My students also enjoy using Geogebra when completing tasks. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I sometimes find it hard to find old Geogebra work that I had. It would be nice if there was an easy way to store all the worksheets especially for our classes. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Intuitive, clear, varied, fun. We love using this for investigations, especially when introducing Circle Geometry. This really helps students SEE the circle theorems and allow them to understand them, rather than just memorize them. We find the students (age 13) are able to easily and quickly discover how to use the program, and often share ideas with their classmates on how to move through some of the processes with ease. These are always their favourite lessons. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The need to click points in a certain order to measure angles, it'd be nice to automatically measure both the acute and obtuse angles, and just delete the one you don't want. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Geogebra is powerful and free. I use it all the time to create visualizations for my Multivariable Calculus students. The Geometry (automatic shape builders and intersect in particular) tools work amazingly well. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The interface is clunky and sometimes unintuitive. There's no back button for typos in the 3D editor, and you really have to think through the order in which you enter graphing instructions, particularly in assigning parameters (though this seems to have recently been improved to automatically assign a presumed parameter).
Desmos.com is far less powerful, but their interface allows for Control-Z or Command-Z while typing and parameters don't have to be typed before their use in a graph. I have to admit that Desmos' ease of use makes it my go-to for 2D demonstrations. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I like the ease of construction geometry applets for students to make discoveries about geometric phenomena. I love the database of activities designed by other teachers. There is a GeoGebra activity for almost any geometry theorem or postulate that I need to be able to unpack for my students. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Some of the display settings are not very intuitive. There is a steep learning curve for becoming a GeoGebra user who builds your own activities. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Interactivity is really the best. I used it to make interactive exercises for school kids to use and it is a great way to show them how does something change based on few parameters that they can control. Perfect for maths and physics where you can generate graphs based on what users write in or simulate how gravity changes along different parts of the earth. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
