I love that HitFilm Express is a program that facilitates editing and that contains many effects for high-quality audiovisual projects Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The only thing I do not like is that the program does not have many transitions for videos Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

3d object import and compositing. PBR materials are pretty good and get better with each new Hitfilm Prp release. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Needing to sleep, slows me down from creating art in Hitfilm Pro. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

One of the real advantages of this software is that it combines advanced editing tools and special effects, very useful for creating creative content, contains functions to work with different formats, work with 3D objects, Chroma Key technique and Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Since it is a considerably priced software, it would be good for some users to have a limited free trial to try some of its features and tools. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

simple software and light-weight no need high performance pc for video editing. support multiple types of videos . use friendly Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
need some training to edit videos and tutorial support is low. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
You can find all kinds of videos about Hitfilm and how to use it's basic features and it's more advanced features, right on the home screen of the software. You can use it to do super high quality cinematic like effects, or just basic video editing. If you do the basic stuff, you don't even need the pro version, as all of the basic functionality is offered for free. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It can be a bit quirky at times. I have tried to delete out elements and replace them with new one's and the effects of the old one carried over, and I can't figure out why. It's nothing major, but it can be quirky sometimes if you change things out after you've already got some other things in place. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The best advantage of HitFilm Express is that it comes bundled with over 500 video effects that one can use to create effects like flashes, explosions and much more. These effects like flashes and explosions are also available in Adobe After Effects but to use that one needs to download the ACTION ESSENTIALS pack by Video Copilot which is more costly and consumes more data, unlikely to that HitFilm provides the same in one version, its like a smaller pack with a bigger explosion!! One another awesome feature is the ability to auto sync voice or audio recorded with different devices like if someone has recorded voice from a Camera(not mobile camera here) and other device like a portable mic then both can be loaded in separate layers and auto-syncing them will line them up awesomely. Though HitFilm has rocked the world of the VFx industry but still unlike the Adobe Premiere Pro it does not have video broadcasting ability which makes it lag a little behind from Premiere Pro. But if compared with Adobe Premiere Pro as well as Sony Vegas it is the best software that provides you even the Green Screen removal facility available in the Keying Suite package of Adobe After Effects. Easily, by far the best part of HitFilm Express is it's user friendliness. HitFilm Express, despite being a free program, has a huge amount of the features and functions of a premium, paid video editor. Even with all of this functionality, HitFilm does a fantastic job of making the basics of editing video using the program extremely easy to understand, with tutorials and suggestion videos popping up on the launch splash page, and with most of the basic functions easily able to find as soon as you start a video project. This ease of use extends to even when you begin doing more advanced editing using keyframes and other such tools. Projects that once took me literally days I now finish in hours, and a huge part of that is because of how easy HitFilm makes it to learn the program. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
If there's any problem I have to have with HitFilm Express, it's that in order to REALLY make professional looking videos involving transitions, you often have to manually sort of create the transitions yourself. This isn't to say that HitFilm doesn't have transitional effects, because it does, but they often can look very cheap and not as smooth or fancy as you may like. ofcourse when you ask for the best thing about the software, its the pricing. hitfilm express is a free software and don't cost you're a penny to download.. it doesn't have all the advanced tools available in the pro version but for simple video editing and VFX works, this is one of the best. coming to the features available in the software, you can see almost all the common thing in other video editors like timeline and multi-track editing. the interface is really good with a dark colour theme I really enjoyed working on it. the learning curve of the software is a little steep and can take newbies little time to know the software. some of the add-ons available are way too costly. the export options are limited within the free version and you have to pay if you want to unlock them. of course the fact the software is free to use is the best thing about it. I don't think you can find any other software with similar features for free in the market when the competition is very high and any good video editing software costs a ton. the effects build in with the software are really good, i especially like the lighting effects in it. you can easily add effects to the footage with a click and edit it easily according to your need. working with 3d is something which is extremely good in hitfilm express. despite the fact its free you have to say the support from hitfilm is really good, they are always online to gelp you out and you dont have to contact them that often because the software documentation is really good and there is also several tutorial videos availalbe in their website to help you out. for more detailed editing and effects there are several add-ons available. there is no support for Dolby AC3 without add-ons and i find it as a serious problem with the software. if you want to download the software you need to share a link with social media which is somewhat irritating. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The software is free, although considered us the younger brother of the pro version it comes with a lot of powerful video editing features that you can get for absolutely nothing and its a great catch, both Mac and PC are supported by the software so you don't have to worry about sharing project files and also a lot of people can take advantage of this free software from hitfilm irrespective of the operating system they are using.
when it comes to features, unlike other free software this one is power-packed. the software supports all kinds of media with resolutions up to 4K, 360 videos and so much more. there are several realtime editing tools in there for you to work on multiple monitors and several additional effects which are usually found in high-end software.
the interface is great, it looks very neat, beautiful and well arranged. also, you can access a lot of tutorials in it which helps you get used to the software. the youtube direct upload function is also great if you're a vlogger. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
you can see that a software of this much features is given out for free so where is the catch for the company, it's with the export options. the exports options are way too limited when compared with the pro edition of the similar software. you need to pay if you need to unlock those features. also many effects and add-ons within the software is locked out from the user which can be accessed without a subscription and that's where it loses "Free" tag. advanced add-ons such as chroma key won't work with an express version so don't think about playing with the 3d options here. i used to have the program crashing when tried to work on GoPro fusion 360 videos. if you're looking for extreme editing within the software make sure you got a good pc-build cause it takes a lot of memory and lags your system.
