Top Rated Fxhome by Artlist Alternatives
You can find all kinds of videos about Hitfilm and how to use it's basic features and it's more advanced features, right on the home screen of the software. You can use it to do super high quality cinematic like effects, or just basic video editing. If you do the basic stuff, you don't even need the pro version, as all of the basic functionality is offered for free. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It can be a bit quirky at times. I have tried to delete out elements and replace them with new one's and the effects of the old one carried over, and I can't figure out why. It's nothing major, but it can be quirky sometimes if you change things out after you've already got some other things in place. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

When I need to edit a video, HitFilm Express is my go-to software. It has every feature I could look for, including creating composite shots, motion tracking, green screen, text overlays and scrolling, audio and video transitions. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The more advanced features take some learning to use, but that is expected. HitFilms offers many tutorials to help with every aspect of using the software. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Using it to edit smartphone shots along with my camera shots supports both.
Can import multiple streams of audio simultaneously, audio mixing feature is good.
The best is it gives all the necessary features in the free version, 4k video support. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

After purchasing a new laptop, I started my search for a new video editing software. I had downloaded a very basic video editing software on my previous desktop, but was interested in something that could give me more options when it came to editing. I found HitFilm Express through a quick search through "free video editing software for beginners", and downloaded it because of good reviews. It is very user friendly and I can do so much more than my previous editing software when it comes to adding & editing background audio, adding watermarks, and more! I've really liked editing on this software, and will definitely recommend it to anyone who needs a video editor. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The only things I dislike is that there are no instructional videos in HitFilm express to watch, and sometimes it will shut down randomly. I had to go through youtube to try and find out how to do certain things ( ex/ overlay photos on videos). And sometimes in the middle of editing the system will close. Other than that, everything has been great! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I was amazed when I have first tried Hitfilm Express. I cannot imagined that it can be so rich in tools for a free editor. I am an artist and I use this software for editing my videos about my artworks. It offers really great features for slow motion, titles transitions, camera movements etc. It support many export formats optimized for different purposes (for example Social media). It takes a while to learn the software, but there are many videos available illustrating and teaching the features. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The number of transitions is limited only to a few, it would be great to have more. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The fact that Hitfilm Express is free makes it an excellent starting point for entry-level and intermediate video production. It has a powerful suite of tools built in that are more than enough to get started. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
As of this time, Hitfilm is poorly optimized for mid range hardware. Improvements here would be greatly appreciated by myself and the community. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Everything. The tools you can use are great, and the professional feel of the UI is amazing. I'm still amazed at the fact that it's free. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It crashed on me once, but otherwise there aren't that many bad things about it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
