We implemented a Tool Management System with FUJITSU. Nilfisk operates globally with more than 7,000 tools, which are producing components for our products. Nilfisk relied on disparate spreadsheets to monitor the status, cost, location and condition of thousands of Nilfisk owned tools. Each Nilfisk factory had its own excel spreadsheet for tracking tools, in an unstructured way. Moreover, both the engineering and finance departments used different database with zero integration. This solution was inefficient as it couldn’t track tools in real time on a daily basis, thus potentially disrupting supply chains and impacting on customers. Furthermore this led to time-consuming data entry, duplication of effort and a lack of real-time visibility across its inventory.
