Formidable Forms Pros and Cons

I like the feature set of Formidable forms and how fluently it handles complex forms with 100+ fields. It is a real workhorse for our business. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Although Formidable Forms are really easy to use for basic forms, the complex features are a bit confusing and after 2+ years I am still unsure about some settings. But the support is very quick and solved all my issues. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Longtime user of Formidable Forms on MANY sites, and use it daily. The forms are amazing, but it's the features that seal the deal for me. I use almost everything offered in some form. Conditional formatting, zapier integration, Mailchimp, Woocommerce, Views... You name it, Formidable does it!

Formidable's media upload folder can get bloated if one uses it to display views with large lists containing images. That's about the only negative for me. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

You can do really complex things quite easily. For example, you can have a form that users can fill out, which then generates a draft CPT, which you can review before Publish. Then using Formidable's Views, you can take information from forms and display it anywhere, conditionally, styled on a page, or only for Admins' view.

What I REALLY like best is that it's clear what integrations you get, and their integrations aren't odd 3rd party developers whose prices all vary. ALL the extensions and integrations are made BY Formidable. Support is all in one place, no one can pass the buck, and their support knows all of it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

It is pricey, but even their free version is better than the other free form builders. Plus, Formidable's competitors don't tell you that you will have to pay extra, even on the highest plan, to get add-ons and that those add-ons are from an entirely different company. So while Formidable can seem expensive, it ends up being much more cost-effective in the long run. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Setting up Formidable Forms is very easy. Aside from that, one of my favorite aspects is that it offers some ARIA capabilities to increase Google Pagespeed scores. If you have a website that needs Accessibility features, Formidable Forms is for you! From my research, no other form plugins offer this. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

My least favorite part is that I can't shorten the space in between fields. This can make my contact forms longer (vertically) than I'd like. They do offer some spacing customizations for padding and margins, but not this specific one. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The forms you can build are very versatile and flexible. You have tons of fields to choose from and they are pretty much customizable in every detail. Submit actions are good too, there are lots of actions you can take after data is submitted, Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

A thing I'd like addressed is the editing mode when there are hundreds of fields. The backend just freezes when there are lots of fields. It's a rare use case, but if you have a big survey like we do it's frustrating when the browser freezes between actions. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
