CBORD FSS is a Highly Functional System **Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars **Reviewed by:** Maureen Y. | Menu Management Specialist **Reviewed Date:** June 22, 2021 **What do you like best about Foodservice Suite?** Canned reporting is extensive, and the ability to export data for customized reporting is relatively straightforward and brings more excellent value as upper management always seems to need more analytics. I like the number of settings to customize functionality truly. I like the ability to custom build my allergens list to meet the needs of an international population that has allergens beyond the US top 8/9. Another area for props is that CBORD listens to customers and updates software to meet requirements. **What do you dislike about Foodservice Suite?** CBORD, in more recent years has added more functionality to upload information; however, it is still a need to adapt the software to reduce how much data entry is needed to keep the system functional. **What problems is Foodservice Suite solving and how is that benefiting you?** FSS functionality for data tagging for allergens enabled us to reduce food allergen incidents nearly to zero. ### 2. I very much enjoy the design and ease of use of Foodservice Suite. **What problems is Foodservice Suite solving and how is that benefiting you?** No current problems, I am no longer with the company that used FSS, but I was an administrator when I was. I think that our current institution would benefit from FSS if it does not already use the service. ### 3. Late at night when trying to place an order or submit invoices, the software can be quite slow. **What problems is Foodservice Suite solving and how is that benefiting you?** We are better able to keep track of our inventory as well as our department budgets. ### 4. You can use it to do inventory and pricing of products for sale. **What do you dislike about Foodservice Suite?** Things that they can improve are getting the product to integrate with Point of Sale Systems easier. **What problems is Foodservice Suite solving and how is that benefiting you?** We have standardized recipes and the ability to marry the recipes. ### 6. Good for Point and Click Ordering **Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars **Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospital & Health Care | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.) **Reviewed Date:** September 22, 2018 **What do you like best about Foodservice Suite?** Food Service Suite has many features that you can chose ala carte which is nice for because there are a lot of platforms that we do not need due to using other programs. We use Food Service Suite for our healthcare room service ordering program. The tray monitor function is helpful, and probably my favorite function of the program. It allows us to monitor where a patient's tray is in the process whether being cooked, waiting for delivery, out for delivery, or delivered. This has been very helpful because in the past, trays would get "lost" and we did not know a patient had not eaten until much later. This function has almost eliminated that problem. I also like that there are many avenues you can chose to use it. There is a web based version, you can use it on an iPad or a pc, and it's user friendly for the operators. My operators are older, and they were able to learn to use this program without an issue. **What do you dislike about Foodservice Suite?** My biggest frustration with Food Service Suite is although it has the ability to be great, it can feel clunky and old. There are functions within in the program that look like they are built, but when we ask about them, we are told, "oh, we don't actually have those built. The software looks like it can do that, but it can't." We really need help with intakes, and the program has a place that says intakes, but it was just recently built. However, we can still not use it because another big issue is that Food Service Suite will not interface to the medical record. It receives messages, but will not send them. This alone makes many of the features in the program useless. It is also necessary for workarounds in some cases because the program does not allow certain things. For example, you cannot delete things. Once created diets and rooms cannot be removed from the database, so you have to move them to the end of the list go get them out of the way. I really need a way to clean them up, so I am not scrolling for days to find what I need. Building new menus are a night mare. You have to touch each individual item for each individual meal period. It takes hours of unnecessary work. Although I love the tray monitor system, it would be nice if it was built more like a restaurant meal tracker. It would be great if the order appeared on the screen for our cooks so they could see any issues with tickets and produce them faster. It would also be nice to have a scan function. My smallest complaint is that you cannot have the tickets print in different colors. **What problems is Foodservice Suite solving and how is that benefiting you?** The best benefit is the amount of data we have received from the tray monitor program. We can run reports for productivity and tray delivery time, and we don't have to reproduce lost trays. We can also track to a limited degree where a hostess may be. We are able to plan staffing levels easier. ### 7. While there seems to be multiple ways to enter in notes, the process seems like it can be more user-friendly. **Recommendations to others considering Foodservice Suite:** Foodservice Suite is a good program to use but may not be the most user friendly. **What problems is Foodservice Suite solving and how is that benefiting you?** The benefits of this software is that it allows me to have access to a large list of nutrition-related information. Some problems that I encounter with Foodservice Suite is that it does not always interface correctly with the EHR I use. ### 8. Provides updated reports easily. ### 10.
