Flickr is clearly focused on photography and supporting a global community of photographers and photo consumers. I like that Flickr has been doing photography for as long as I have! Their environmental awareness initiatives are meaningful and important. In addition to their online presence, the Flickr team is a great group of people who successfully connected a community of photographers at a recent event hosted in NYC. The platform’s offering of unlimited uploads, high-quality image resolution, and intuitive image organization options truly sets it apart, making it an essential tool for both professional and amateur photographers. While Flickr offers many great features, there are a few aspects that could be improved. The ads inserted between photos in the free version can diminish the viewing experience. Additionally, there's a noticeable disparity between some of the legacy website design and the more modern mobile app design, which can be jarring for users who switch between the two. Despite uploading hundreds of high-quality photos, the level of engagement on my work has been disappointingly low. Lastly, my Explore feed often features too many boring landscape and nature photos, when I'm really looking for more diverse content including portraits, fashion, and street. I like the community that is involved with the site and sharing photos while discovering new photographers thru the Flickr features. I like that I can save all my photos to the site and that its super simple to do and what photos I want shown can get out there fast. I go through using the site often to find ideas and inspoiration in what I capture. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The best feature Flicker has is allowing the image owner to choose the licence for sharing the image. Everyone can see it, but you don't risk ending up published on some blog. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The recent changes had hidden many functionalities that were previously free behind a paywall that didn't exist at all. On the upside, the extra cash has brought improvements in design and ease of use.
The paywall I mentioned some time ago seems to have gotten worse. Flickr was many people's favourite place to share and collect images - now it's a hurdle race. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

A platform for sharing and storing designs. The Flickr community is large and we can take inspiration from them. Allows integration helps to organise the photos and videos in a single place. There are several helpful aspects and upsides of using Flickr. Firstly, Flickr has a large and active community of photographers and enthusiasts, providing an opportunity to connect, interact, and gain inspiration from like-minded individuals. Secondly, Flickr is known for its reliability, ensuring a smooth and hassle-free experience without technical issues. Thirdly, the platform maintains the integrity of uploaded photos, preserving their sharpness and clarity, resulting in high-quality images that showcase the photographer's work effectively. Additionally, Flickr's international reach allows users to explore and connect with photographers from around the world, expanding their perspectives and experiences. Lastly, Flickr offers convenient sharing options, allowing users to easily showcase their photos by sending them via email or text, making sharing effortless. While Flickr offers many benefits, there are a few downsides to using the platform. First, free accounts have limited storage space, which can be a constraint for users with extensive photo collections. Upgrading to a paid subscription is necessary for more storage. Additionally, some users find the interface of Flickr to be slightly complex and less intuitive compared to other photo-sharing platforms, requiring a learning curve to navigate effectively. The built-in photo editing tools on Flickr are also basic, lacking some advanced features that photographers might desire for more comprehensive editing capabilities. Furthermore, the presence of advertisements on the free version of Flickr can be distracting for users. Lastly, there have been privacy concerns expressed by users regarding the visibility and control of their shared photos, particularly in terms of copyright protection. Flickr is an easily integrated service that provides peace of mind in knowing our professional and personal photography assets are safely archived. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It would be great to have a built in option that recognizes duplicate images and offers the option to remove them. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The best thing about Flickr is its user-friendly and appealing interface. The entire journey of uploading photographs, showcasing them, and organizing them is simple and efficient. This platform provides one of the most powerful search capabilities providing filters based on any of the user's requirements. This makes the overall usage journey very smooth.
Flickr's platform also offers a community in the form of groups based on common interests and themes. In this way, the photographers can get an opportunity to collaborate and discuss their doubts, requirements, and techniques.
We can upload high-quality images on Flickr ranging up to 200 MBs. This directly indicates the emphasis on the high-quality images which adds to the overall value and vision of this platform. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Flickr has two operational plans - free and paid plans. On the free plan, we get a lot of ads and there is a limit on uploading the photographs. So, users who have a large portfolio of photographs and want to add a large number of images to their collections will have to opt for the pro version. Also, the advanced analytic tools are only available on the Flickr Pro.
Another thing that I didn't like was the jitteriness and legginess of the website sometimes. It reduces the overall experience. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I recently joined Flickr as a beginner photographer and was admittedly intimidated by the quality of the work that photographers on the platform had on display. I proceeded to upload some photos, not expecting much engagement. When I checked back a few days later, I saw that a few people had "faved" a couple of my photos and one even left comments. Upon reviewing their photos, I was humbled by the quality and quantity of their work. I knew I had entered a community. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I have no complaints to date. I'm accustomed to websites and social media platforms, so the UI and UX are familiar. At no point was I confused, nor did I have any problems understanding how the site works. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
