Finlistics is a phenomenal tool when it comes to selling into a company you need to get more familiar with. From its public AND privately held company filters, and industry stats that are UP TO DATE, you can't be unprepared for your meeting with the CXO.
For publicly shared companies, log into Finlistics for access into insights on their year after year financial performance, key performance indicators specific to their leadership, shareholder announcements and comparison tools against their competitors. One thing Finlistics struggled with from my perspective was competitor analysis. If you entered a publicly traded company and went to add competitors, there wasn't an opportunity to be more specific. For example - I needed to analyze Netflix as a streaming service company. One of the recommended competitors was Amazon. HOWEVER, only part of Amazon's business model is streaming related with Amazon Video. I wasn't able to pull just that portion of the business out, so I was essentially comparing Netflix video streaming to an e-retailer/e-commerce/e-grocer/cloud storage/photo storage conglomerate. This made the comparison invalid.
Aside from that, if I'm honest, there isnt much I didn't like about the Finlistics tool. As a newer seller in my market, one thing that would have been more helpful is on the tabs where KPIs for that industry was shared, if you could click on those Key Performance Indicators to learn more about what they mean if you were less familiar with what they meant. The ability to quickly pull financial reporting and put it into plain text, such that someone without a finance background can understand, is beneficial. I primarily use the executive summary feature. I also use it to better understand my customer's business cycle without having to source that information from someone in their organization. This information helps me better understand where they are in their budgetary cycle and when I should be having the conversation about future products. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The user interface could be slightly easier to use. I also don't use it at the frequency one might imagine, only when preparing for C-level conversations or researching my new customers. It's also difficult to access Finlistics through my company's internal systems - using the multifactor sign-on seems like overkill for a financial research tool.
It can also be challenging to research private companies. It's not exceptionally intuitive that you have to input a SIC code for a company that IS public of relatively the same size. I wish Finlistics automated that feature. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
When preparing for a conversation with a leader at one of my customers I can spend 10 minutes on ClientIQ and arm myself with enough relevant information about company financials to ask the right questions and establish credibility. Makes is so easy to understand! I also like the peer comarison. We work with alot of companies that are alwasys being metric'd against their competitors. Being abel to demonstrate that they are lagging behind their competitors in certain areas is very valuable! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Unfortunately I work with another of private companies that do not publish financial inforation to the public. The industry trends reports are useful but do not provide relevent information for my specific customer. Also When comparing to industry peers I wish the tool woud automatically add the most revelant competitors. Sometimes is difficult to select who is the most releveant in their industry. ClientIQ collects public data and competitors' data for you so that in 5 minutes, you end up with a benchmark analysis. Probably you would pay a few ten thousand dollars worth of management consulting right in front of you.
When you start engaging with a value modeler, you can come up with the next-best-action list quickly, "What to offer to the client to achieve better."
