Fieldwire offers a flexible and efficient system for Construction Completions and Commissioning Management.
The fact that it is device agnostic is a huge benefit. It can be used on user supplied Apple and Android devices seamlessly. Fieldwire offers the initial framework to get up and running with minimum input, ensuring quick user take up and Ease of Use. However, Fieldwire also offers the flexibility to build a structure that is customised to meet the complexity of your needs.
Being able to enter Tasks and Checklists in the field on your phone, return to a desk, review and edit the information entered and generate comprehensive and detailed reports is extremely efficient and effective.
Fieldwire is the type of software that offers Productivity benefits so many systems talk about, however do not really deliver on.
I have now used Fieldwire on multiple projects for 4 years and am a daily user. I have found it easy to implement and integrate into the existing business processes.
Most importantly, the Customer Support and responsiveness is exceptional. As a "Power User" of the system, we have often pushed the limits and functionality of the Software. The Fieldwire team keep improving and upgrading the ease of use and functionality of Fieldwire. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The photo mark up and drawing tools could be standardised across the Fieldwire platform. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The ability to provide all members of our management team & operatives along with our clients representatives with up to date information be that from a laptop in a meeting or office or on a mobile device whilst on site looking at a problem or query. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The only downside with Fieldwire is the limited customizability of the forms to tailor them specifically to our requirements Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I use it mostly to take pictures on-site based on the existing drawings or aerial pictures I upload. It is very easy to work on that when I am back in my office and try to visualize the locations in my drawings.
I like how I can create a report of photolog very easily. I don't need to process a lot if I use this app efficiently in the field.
I like to categorize them and add category to each of my tags which makes it very easy to post process at office. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
What I don't like about this app is it is very difficult to create or edit lines or any other attributes on the computer as easily it can be done on the phone. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
How quickly we can upload plans or pictures and have all of our Electricians instantly have access to it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Overlapping the plans - it is a bit frustrating when new sets of plans are released and they do not line up with the existing titles etc. and things have missed or accidently overlapped. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The auto generating reports and the ability to customize tasks and the reports. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There seems to be a limit to how many reports you can make in an hour. Not normally a problem but we had someone that was limited because they were testing out different report formats. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There are many areas to add files, forms, plans etc. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
In other field software programs, the forms are pre-done as per industry standard and therefore they comply with industry standard - Fieldwire requires that the user/admin must create each form and there can be issues. Also, since it's manually done, humans may miss industry standard items.
The other issue is that the system is rediculously slow. It's online and yet it takes so long to do anything.
It is not user friendly. With other field software programs - ie - Sitedocs - it's so easy that new employees can catch on immediately - no training required. With Fieldwire, we have to meet up with a rep for assistance and training the employees is time-consuming and frustrating. It's really not a good program. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Fieldwire has been great for keeping files and specs all in one spot. Plans and punch lists can be shared among everyone involved and makes it super easy, especially if receiving a lot of SK's. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I wish the task markers would clear from the plans after being marked as complete. It can tend to clutter up the plan at the end of the job. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Fieldwire is very easy to use and has many featers. Easy to mark up prints and stay current with all coworkers progress. I like that you can task out items and assign them to people. Keep track of production with pictures and dates. Updates are very quick and app is compatible with iPad and iPhone. Also you can back up on a computer in case something happens and you need to restore. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
One of the things I don't like is the fact that others in my addministration can delete my mark ups and notes I have made,if they choose, with out my permission. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Great app to use in the field for basic site plan use during construction, with the abiltiy to write notes, measure rough takeoffs, and add reminders for issues and things to refer back to at a later time. In addtion, with the apps abiltiy to create links to the next page, details, and other files it allows the user to have all of a project information in hand at any time. No ability to download sheets from app to files for records or link photo of items, unless paid subscritpiton. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I like that you can set up weekly reports to get notifications about what you have in tasks menu Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I dont like the amount of emails i receive when tasks are being updated. I do like that i get them but when we do mass updates of a job i ususally end up with over 150 emails in my inbox of just fieldwire. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The ability to assign a task and status to every device on a project has revolutionized keeping track of details that would otherwise be easily forgotten. The ability to attach photos to the tasks makes it much easier to find prewired boxes if the drywall installers bury them. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The complicated steps required to remove a project from a device in the app is pretty annoying. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
