Ibexa CMS is particularly impressive due to its strong multisite and multilingual functionality. For our international B2B company, which operates 38 websites in 28 languages, the platform offers centralized, efficient management and a consistent user experience across all markets – a clear competitive advantage.
And even with a small team, we are able to manage this multitude of websites and languages. The team praises the simple user interface compared to the old system. It's easy to train, easy to understand, and very easy to use. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
This point is rather due to the complexity of the requirements: The initial implementation and adaptation to our complex business processes requires a great deal of effort and specific expertise. Therefore, close collaboration with experienced Ibexa partners was and remains essential for international rollouts.
The external, third-party-managed hosting was "a bit bumpy" during the initial go-lives. However, together with our partners and support, we were able to manage it well.
The tree structure is somewhat inflexible in places; we need cues like icons as information to quickly identify content. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
1. Very clean back end that allows us to keep a structured architecture 2. The platform is flexible and allows us to create many great new features and functionalities 3. The ability to set permissions on anything you can do in the platform, which enables us to have people from all around the world work in one system 4. The community around the platform creating 3rd party plugins and other solutions to add to our instance 5. The wide range of features built within and openness to work with external developers who have created features for the platform 6. Their partner programs and willingness to provide assistance Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
1. Sometimes bugs you find will not be fixed in your current version of the platform and you need to upgrade to fix them 2. Managing permissions on very low level, like field level, can be difficult and you need to be careful of them breaking 3. Sometimes new features release can break custom features you might have developed, so it is necessary to test new release versions carefully Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Ibexa DXP is not one of the big product names that every digital marketing expert immediately thinks of when it comes to a modern DXP. However, in the implementation of various projects, the Symfony base, the modular structure, and the high flexibility of the DXP always prove to be strengths. The backend with the WYSIWYG Page Builder is intuitive and can be quickly learned even by occasional users. For small to medium-sized marketing teams, it is a really well-rounded solution. Certainly, a few features are missing in Ibexa DXP that major manufacturers like Adobe have already integrated. For example, the WYSIWYG editor is somewhat more sophisticated there, AI features are more advanced, and the integration into the almost ubiquitous Creative Suite is more seamless. Here, Ibexa cannot always keep up with the latest trends. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
As a law firm, CMS has been working with Ibexa DXP since its early days when it was known as eZ Publish. Over the years, we have developed a close and valued relationship with Ibexa. Initially, we started with a single web server, but we have since evolved into a professional environment powered by Azure Kubernetes. This load-balanced setup ensures scalability to meet our future requirements.
We appreciate working with a firm where our business size matters. Our relationship with Ibexa's top-level management has been excellent, and we have also established a trustworthy, long-term partnership with our implementation partner. The license costs are very fair and effective, especially considering the level of implementation we have achieved.
We also successfully merged a former third-party solution into the Ibexa DXP, saving a significant amount of costs and completing the project within a very short timeframe of only two months. This integration was crucial in saving the full project.
Additionally, the customer support from Ibexa has been outstanding, providing timely and effective assistance whenever needed. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
One aspect we find less favorable is the slightly strange license model that applies utilization/visitors to a client-hosted system, where load and infrastructure management and costs are in our control. But compared to other suppliers on the market, it is definitely fine. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
What I like most about Ibexa DXP is the intuitive operation and the flexible content structure. The ability to reuse elements makes work much easier and saves time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
One possible improvement would be to include the option to move pages or content within the content tree using drag-and-drop. This would make navigation even more intuitive and efficient. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The Ibexa DXP hits the sweet spot in various trade-offs - e.g., flexibility/customization vs. out of the box; standard requirements vs. innovation; medium-sized business requirements vs. enterprise... overall, a system that is enjoyable to work with and integrate into daily work! Partially, we feel that certain functions are not yet fully "thought through" - for example, in the preview, where it is not possible to display a dropdown of the languages supported by the system without selecting the default languages. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I greatly appreciate the modular architecture of Ibexa DXP, which allows me to deploy functions very specifically without carrying unnecessary tools or features. The integration into existing systems went mostly smoothly, which is not always the case with comparable platforms. The user interface is also well thought out and does not appear cluttered, which makes onboarding new team members easier. Overall, working with the platform is enjoyable because it runs flexibly yet stably. Support requests are also answered very quickly, which I find very positive. Partially, you can notice that some functions are not yet fully developed, for example, with the performance in the backend under high load, you can notice that. The documentation could also go a bit deeper in some areas, especially when it comes to complex integrations. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Good overall user experience for content creators; has a WYSIWYG page builder, publishing workflows, reliable scheduled publishing and more.
Multitenant and multilanguage support; important for us as an international company.
Flexibility in terms of hosting; you can use the Ibexa PaaS offer, or host it on the infrastructure of your choice (e.g. your own), Ibexa is cloud ready.
Customizability; We use Ibexa DXP for a lot of different cases which require implementation of different requirements. Ibexa allows us to serve a lot of different usecases.
API-First approach; Connecting third party data sources is quite easy to do, this saves a lot of implementation effort at times. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Ibexa DXP has evolved a lot over time, but there are still some legacy parts that need refactoring. This sometimes results in bad performance in some areas under certain conditions.
Ibexa has some highly skilled support engineers that will try to help you in case of issues, but of course Ibexa has its own roadmap and some issues that might result under certain conditions, that do not affect a lot of customers will be prioritized rather low.
We use Ibexa DXP for many years, back then it was called eZ Platform - since then, the quality and count of features has gone up, but pricing too. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Flexibility in all directions for customization according to customer needs and high coverage of requirements from the core or through partners and packages. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Some functionalities in the back office create different expectations for an editor than the function itself allows. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
