"A Modern, Flexible Platform That Empowers Our Team"
What do you like best about Ibexa DXP?

What I really appreciate about Ibexa DXP is how it has enabled us to centralize all our content management and give ownership back to our internal team. The intuitive interface, user-friendly page builder, and the ability to reuse assets across markets have made it much easier to manage multiple websites efficiently. The platform is flexible enough to allow us to personalize and scale as we grow, and the workflows and approval processes help maintain brand consistency while still allowing local flexibility. Overall, it’s a modern solution that supports our digital transformation and future ambitions, like e-commerce and customer portals. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Ibexa DXP?

At this early stage, we haven't encountered major drawbacks, but because we're still rolling out and expanding, there are some uncertainties about how well the blueprint approach will scale across all markets. Additionally, while the platform is highly customizable, implementing new features can depend on our internal capacity and workforce, which sometimes slows down our ambitions. "Ibexa DXP, a versatile and highly customisable platform for online experiences"
What do you like best about Ibexa DXP?

1. Very clean back end that allows us to keep a structured architecture 2. The platform is flexible and allows us to create many great new features and functionalities 3. The ability to set permissions on anything you can do in the platform, which enables us to have people from all around the world work in one system 4. The community around the platform creating 3rd party plugins and other solutions to add to our instance 5. The wide range of features built within and openness to work with external developers who have created features for the platform 6. Their partner programs and willingness to provide assistance Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Ibexa DXP?

1. Sometimes bugs you find will not be fixed in your current version of the platform and you need to upgrade to fix them 2. Managing permissions on very low level, like field level, can be difficult and you need to be careful of them breaking 3. Sometimes new features release can break custom features you might have developed, so it is necessary to test new release versions carefully Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Lars Eirik Rønning of Ibexa DXP

Thanks so much for your thorough review Michelle. This is much appreciated. We are very happy to hear that Ibexa DXP works well for you and has been so for many years.

The bugs you discover in our platform should be handled without you having to do big upgrades but there can be edge cases as you point out. With our promise of supporting a long term release for many years we do recognize that big corporations carefully need to plan upgrades to validate that everything (including your custom development) is working as expected.

Please note that with recent changes in how we ship updates to our DXP, bringing what we call LTS Updates we also aim to improve how you can add new features in simpler steps. We are aware that while working well we can still do more with regards to simplify upgrades.

"A CMS that grows with us – Ibexa as a strong partner for our global B2B communication"
What do you like best about Ibexa DXP?

Ibexa CMS is particularly impressive due to its strong multisite and multilingual functionality. For our international B2B company, which operates 38 websites in 28 languages, the platform offers centralized, efficient management and a consistent user experience across all markets – a clear competitive advantage.

And even with a small team, we are able to manage this multitude of websites and languages. The team praises the simple user interface compared to the old system. It's easy to train, easy to understand, and very easy to use. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Ibexa DXP?

This point is rather due to the complexity of the requirements: The initial implementation and adaptation to our complex business processes requires a great deal of effort and specific expertise. Therefore, close collaboration with experienced Ibexa partners was and remains essential for international rollouts.

The external, third-party-managed hosting was "a bit bumpy" during the initial go-lives. However, together with our partners and support, we were able to manage it well.

The tree structure is somewhat inflexible in places; we need cues like icons as information to quickly identify content. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Lars Eirik Rønning of Ibexa DXP

Hello Christina,

Thank you so much for taking the time to leave a review. We really appreciate it.

We are thrilled that you find Ibexa DXP to working well for you and we are very happy to hear that you were able to sort of the bumps you did experience with regards to hosting your site.

I noticed your comment on lacking icons to find the right type of content in your content tree. I wanted to bring to your attention (in case you have not yet seen it) that developers can customize this following: https://doc.ibexa.co/en/latest/administration/back_office/back_office_elements/custom_icons/#customize-content-type-icons. Although we cannot provide these icons directly it is very much prepared for you to add your own domain specific icons. Do reach out if you have any further questions.

"Ibexa DXP is a top-tier choice for complex B2B catalogs and customer portals."
What do you like best about Ibexa DXP?

For our redesign, Ibexa unified content, e-commerce, and PIM into one coherent interface across all domains. This synergy was vital for team adoption and collaboration. I also value the robust ecosystem—with tools like Qualifio—which perfectly supports complex digital strategies. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Ibexa DXP?

To expand on my feedback regarding the user experience, the back-office challenges generally center on the friction between high-end technical power and daily editorial efficiency. The current back-office experience lacks the "flow" found in more consumer-oriented CMS tools. The writing process can feel fragmented, often requiring too many clicks to perform routine tasks like formatting or structuring content.

The most significant pain point is the media management workflow. Uploading resources like photos often lacks an intuitive, drag-and-drop feel, making it difficult for teams to quickly populate galleries or align visuals with text Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"From public-focused CMS to E-commerce growth platform : A digital transformation journey"
What do you like best about Ibexa DXP?

In the context of our redesign project, Ibexa allowed us to bring everything together within a single, coherent interface—from content management to e-commerce and product information—across both our main domain and subdomains. This unified vision has been key in helping our teams understand, adopt, and contribute to the platform.

The API-first approach was also a decisive factor. It enabled us to connect Ibexa seamlessly with our existing tools, such as our CRM, without disrupting established workflows. This flexibility allowed us to modernize our ecosystem while preserving what already worked. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Ibexa DXP?

What I sometimes miss is a more extensive plugin library, including open-source developments, as well as more advanced custom builders that would allow greater flexibility and experimentation with new services. While the platform offers customization options, these could be further extended to better adapt to specific use cases. That said, the environment remains highly open and makes it easy to integrate external services when needed. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Flexible Content Engine for Modern Digital Experiences"
What do you like best about Ibexa DXP?

I really appreciate how Ibexa can serve as a flexible, central content engine that powers the entire customer-facing experience. The platform's modularity lets us tailor the solution to our needs, and the ability to integrate with our CRM and payment provider has been seamless. The headless content capabilities and the ease with which we can personalize and manage content for different users are particularly impressive, especially for building structured, actionable workflows. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Ibexa DXP?

The main pain point is around the pricing model, particularly with the number of environments included by default. Sometimes we need just one more environment, but the current structure forces us to buy a bundle of five, which isn't cost-effective for a growing company. More flexible pricing options for startups and scaling businesses would be appreciated. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Well rounded platform with some great features"
What do you like best about Ibexa DXP?

Ibexa has transitioned from a focus on publishing to a broader digital experience, and with this shift, they have introduced several valuable features for discovering and creating content. The addition of publication calendars and embedding tools greatly simplifies the work of content managers. The role-based system for managing both workflow and content permissions is especially helpful for larger organisations or in situations where requirements must be reviewed or approved. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Ibexa DXP?

From an engineering perspective, the extensibility offered is valuable, although there are certain areas where support for this is lacking. To address these gaps, there is a noticeable emphasis on integrating with external services. In my view, many DXPs and CMSs have shifted toward a headless, service-based model, which I believe is generally a better direction. This is especially relevant when considering Ibexa's price point, as it positions the product more toward a specialised, niche market of B2B ecommerce. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"A customizable DXP without limits, a high-performance DXP, a clean technical foundation"
What do you like best about Ibexa DXP?

An ultra-customizable DXP, the content is organized in a tree structure and there is no limit to the creation of content types. The code adheres to Symfony "standards," making it a scalable and sustainable product. It is easy to add specific business logic. The version upgrade processes are well-established, allowing the stack to be kept up to date. There are no strong dependencies on external components that would block upgrades. The structure (content type, evolution of role and rights policies) can be modified by migration scripts, allowing it to evolve in an industrial manner. Its ability to handle high traffic while maintaining continuous content update capability is thanks to the fine caching strategy. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Ibexa DXP?

A complex skill development, even though it is increasingly accessible for Symfony developers. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"A robust CMS that fits our needs"
What do you like best about Ibexa DXP?

As a newbie to Ibexa, I like how easy and intuitive it is to work in. Time from learning to actual producing pages is short. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Ibexa DXP?

When adding language versions of components and pages, it can get complex fast, but this is the same for all CMSes. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Lars Eirik Rønning of Ibexa DXP

Thank you so much for your feedback. Very happy to hear that you find it be a productive tool. Indeed adding languages does make it a bit more complex, but also very powerful. Having said that we are always interested in understanding your use case to see if there are ways to simplify.

"Flexible and powerful enterprise DXP on Symfony bases"
What do you like best about Ibexa DXP?

Ibexa DXP is a very flexible foundation for our future business initiatives. Its open architecture based on one of the widely used PHP Frameworks makes it easy for our internal Engineering Team to adapt and extend the Application according to our taste and our needs.

The integrated Page Builder supports our editors to build and immediately review product landing pages according to our design standards without sacrificing the headless support to provide the same data to other client applications.

Last but not least: The support from Ibexa is outstanding! We are constantly in contact with different people of Ibexa that are continuously helping us finding the best solutions possible. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Ibexa DXP?

To implement Ibexa DXP properly you need the help of a third party agency. This in itself is not so much an issue but having a powerful inhouse Engineering Team collaborating with an external team is at least challenging to manage.

Some aspects of the system are surprisingly underdeveloped. Although the main architecture is impressive and the application has all the main features that you need on an enterprise level there are some areas that need some more time to fully reach their potential.
