I like ArcGIS because it allows me to spatially analyze data. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
While there is nothing I actually dislike about the ArcGIS software, I find the method of inserting tables onto a map a little cumbersome. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Maps created are good looking, and easy to create once .shp files are loaded Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The process cannot be automatized easily. In theory, it could’ve written in python, but there is no user friendly way of saving your steps to do a map over again Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Frequent updates and new tools; flexibility in design; user-friendly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Licenses are very expensive. With time I’d like to see their costs come down. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
From students to professionals it is a very versatile software with all of it's different applications. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The price of a single license for this software is through the roof, but that's because it's the best. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I like that I can use ArcGIS to communicate with fellow scientist all over the world about a specific area I am researching. We can share updated updated maps and data instantly. I like that Esri also makes softwares such as Collector and Survey123 to work hand-in-hand with ArcGIS. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The software is very expensive. Especially for students who are in the scientific community. I wish there was an educational discount for students/faculty. I remember the course I took back in college had us download the free 60 day trial. However, that did not last the entire semester. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The product is easy to learn and use even for beginners. There are wide variety of tools to address many different problems. It is the most widely used Geographic Information System software, hence there are several tutorials and help available online. The large user community is always there to back up questions you may have on different forums, apart from ESRI's own free training materials. Spatial analysis capabilities are top notch. ArcOnline is gaining popularity and the simplicity is attracting more users. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Cost - not practical from a developing countries' perspective and the high cost nullifies the benefits it provide, when compared to many open source GIS software available today. It is not the best when it comes to analysis satellite imagery. The software is also quite heavy, to run on a old machine with less RAM could be challenging. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
