Acquire a user guide, particularly a college-level introductory textbook, and complete the tutorials to help familiarize yourself with ArcGIS! You will likely encounter some setbacks or bugs, but many of them are solvable with ESRI Online Support. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Esri ArcGIS?

This software has improved. I am able to conduct complex analyses. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Some features could definitely be improved. It could be easier to navigate this software than it already is. Also, sometimes the GIFs are so small that I cannot see what I am clicking! This should be improved. however, there is no other software that can even compare to ArcGIS. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Esri ArcGIS?

Once you get a hang of basic commands, spatializing your data is a powerful tool for communication. Network analyst is crucial for my work, and has flexible applications. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Esri ArcGIS?

The graphics are very dated - making maps usually will require further editing in a graphic software if you do not want it to look like a 1998 product. The learning curve is also very steep. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
