ArcGIS is the best software on the market for performing all tasks related to spatial analysis and management of geographic databases, the endless number of tools it possesses allows you to perform urban, environmental, geodesign, hydrology, digital terrain models, watershed analysis, satellite image processing, three-dimensional modeling, geospatial process modeling, and many other activities with this GIS. ArcGIS extensions like Catalog and Arcscene allow the former to improve data management processes, as its function is to keep information organized in files and ensure it is primarily ordered in Geodatabase to enhance its processing and management, while Arcscene allows for creating models, simulations, and videos, especially associated with digital terrain models and raster image processing. The biggest disadvantage of ArcGIS is the price, it is an extremely expensive software, especially for entrepreneurs or small businesses that wish to use it for studies and research. I use ArcGIS Desktop to teach a introduction GIS course and over the years the course became infamous due to the constant crashes and lags in the software. Firstly, the support. No GIS software comes with as much support online, from other users, through esri directly, or in school. This is the software taught in schools, and is what every industry uses. Also, once you have an active account, you have access to the most robust web mapping API on the market. This claim could probably be challenged, but I haven't seen anything that provides such a low barrier to entry that also allows for deep customization through the Java API. The price. This software is not cheap, especially for a small business. Additionally, the newest version, ArcGIS Pro, is still a bit buggy and can lag, but it's getting better. The software isn't necessarily intuitive. I spent several years learning and using it in the university. That being said, ArcGIS Pro is trying to make it more intuitive.
