We use ArcGIS for working with maps and geographic data. I cannot say it's very easy to use, but when you get hang of it, it is very useful and make a big difference in research. The possibility of superimposing data, using different data sources, its capability to be used in different filed, even in social sciences, is great. I do not like the undo option when I am working with it. Sometime when you use undo you'd lose data. Also sometime for some reason that I haven't figured out yet, I lose some of my processes and have to do them again.
