ArcGIS is what is taught in most universities when people are learning how to use GIS. As such most people are familiar with the program. once you know what you are doing, presenting data because a breeze and it helps make whatever point you have even more impactful. Not necessarily a dislike on ArcGIS but GIS as a whole. Unless you are actively using the service over a period of time, it becomes very easy to forget and lose all the training you've had. There are some quirks in the software code which can cause problems with the user, such as limiting length of file names in certail toolboxes, problems with filepath names etc. Software is also expensive and there are cheaper alternatives which do a similar job as effectively. The natural power of spatially relating meaningful data really can't be understated. This is something that I believe all GIS professionals understand and love. The Esri SOlutions environment provides the tools required to create holistic solutions from data collection in the field to managing the data in the background, to displaying and reporting infomration and metrics to consumers everything I need to develop and deploy powerful busness applications exists within the Esri Solutions Suite and it is instantly geo-encoded for spatial and temporal purposes. I dislike the fact that certain data types like very large raster data sets significantly slow down ArcGIS programs and cause them to crash on occasion. As far as GIS software goes, nothing is more user friendly than products in the ArcGIS suite (pro, map, ect.). Also there are o many extensions that allow for more versatility in my work. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The main problem I have is the price, it's easy for large crporations to afford enterprise licenses or individual licenses, but when some friend of mine are looking at getting it for projects like Civil Air Patrol, it is way to expensive. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
