Epicor Kinetic is a very versatile ERP software that allows the user to create fields, to query the database and display information on customizable dashboards. Kinetic is able to be configured to the particular needs of any company, regardless of the business. Most other software systems do not offer the flexibility of Kinetic. Out of the box, the Kinetic user interface isn't as user friendly for people that need to update or review a lot of data as part of their daily functions. There is a lot of empty space without a lot of data. A more compact view with more data visibility would be better in my opinion. Having to go through options listed on the side of the window can be annoying. However, Epicor does allow customers to create dashboards and tailor the system to better fit specific needs. I love that I can access Kinetic (cloud) from anywhere.
It also has outstanding search features, and it allows personalization that enhances the search capabilities.
The "Explorer" screens make it easy to find related information. For example, in Order Entry you can easly access the packing slip, and invoice, as well as see if the invoice has been paid without ever leaving order entry Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It can be harder to identify the table/field names. In the classic version you could easly identify a field in the screen from the help menu.
If you are a classic user it can be difficult to find the same fields in the Kinetic screens. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Kinetic is available on prem or in the cloud, it's friendly to medium customization and automation; logging in by SSO is easy; Customer support is good for most functional or technical issues/requests, and we have a good Customer Account Manager; Implementations are aided by a good data migration tool; licenses are concurrent; It is adaptable to our manufacturing needs and requirements; the Kinetic technology stack is modern; SaaS service is reliable Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The integration with advanced MES and labeling automation could use some modernization Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
A business intelligence tool that can visualise data Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
We've used Grow.com for a few years. It's rather slow with large datasets and tables often duplicate values randomly or show "no data" (even after refreshing).
On top of that be careful when signing Grow.com / Epicor contracts. They not only auto-renew, but require a 30 day notice period prior to the auto-renewal date. And there are not reminders being sent about it.
We tried to cancel our contract (unaware of the notice period) 15 days before the renewal, and Epicor is now threatening us with collection agencies / legal actions to charge us (small business) several thousand USD for a tool we're not using.
I suggest you stay away - there are better and cheaper solutions out there that deal fairly with their customers. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Generate suggestions runs faster and screens look pretty. Nice to be able to use on a browser Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Dashboards are less efficient because they need to be in tab view and can see less information at a time. Tab ing between fields seems slower Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The activity being visible in entry screens is very handy. App Studio seems to be more intuitive than previous screen customization tool. Home screen is great. Ditching the local client. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Scroll bars are too small! Field titles and data kind of bleed together, not much distinction with the look. Converting dashboards is time consuming. Many of the default options have to have a layer created to change to make the dashboard more user friendly, such as simply having the panel grid card expand at runtime. Plus, adding data filters is not as easy as it was in classic. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Epicor is easily customizable and the software does have a lot of flexibility that can be developed and implemented quickly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I'm coming back, 3 years after initially writing this review to update that the software is still a complete disaster. The development team has ZERO quality control measures in place to ensure that what is delivered to the customer doesn't break core functionality. We are consistently let down by Epicor not being able to live up to even the barest of expectations. I cannot stress enough that if you are looking for a strong, stable, and reliable ERP, Epicor is NOT your answer. I implore you to look at other software.
DO NOT fall for Epicor's pitch. The Kinetic version of the software could barely even be considered alpha. It is not even close to complete enough to be offered for beta testing, nevermind as a complete offering that a customer could purchase. We fell for this and are consistently crippled by how horribly incomplete and buggy the software is.
Worse still, Epicor's dedicated support is the most ineffective that I have ever worked with. That combined with the state of their product offering results in consistent failures that directly cost money in wasted time and loss of productivity.
The cloud offering is also very incomplete. Documentation that is specific for supporting a cloud environment is nonexistent and causes further delays to solving problems because Epicor consistently offers solutions that do not work due to the nature of the environment.
I would not recommend this software or this company to anyone under any circumstances. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I am currently in the process of upgrading our old Epicor version 9.05 to the cloud-based Kinetic 2021. So far, the thing I like the most is the ease at which different people can gather the information that they need for their position in the company. Visually it is a better-looking product. I currently like the ability to use the classic view for which my users are most familiar with and the new Kinetic view, which has a cleaner look to it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It is a very new version, so not all of the screens have been re-designed into the Kinetic view yet. That may not happen for the next few updates. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The ability to easily customize the software to your business needs. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The number of upgrades via Kinetic cloud means more testing than normal and same items always seem to fail Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Grow is fully customizable ! From the sources of data all the way to the actual graphs and displays themselves. It is very easy to take any type of raw data and combine it into useful metrics so you can check on things at a glance. The refresh rate is very good, and it comes with some automated code for pulling data based on your specific location. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I wish there were a few more options inside of each metric for customizing labels, colors etc... Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
