Links that come with e-mail notifications are click-once only. If, for example, you receive a notification about a new survey, click the link and start filling out the survey, but get interrupted and then want to continue the following day, clicking the same link renders a message that goes something like "You've already responded to this survey", except I haven't even responded to the first question.
