What do you like best about Eclipse Che?

It is a good IDE if you know what you are doing. It works great with Java, but to get other languages to work, you have to install lots of plugins for them to be supported. Takes a while to get used to the interface but once you are, there are a lot of things you can do with it! It is very feature driven and has lots of options and settings to best enable your workflow. What do you dislike about Eclipse Che?

Eclipse Che constantly crashes, which can really disrupt workflow. It also does not run smoothly most times. It lags and freezes more times than not, so you will need really good RAM and CPU in order for this to work properly for you. It is also too confusing to begin with, needs to have a better UI in general. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Eclipse Che?

As a seasoned developer, I've had the pleasure of working with various integrated development environments (IDEs) throughout my career. However, none have left as profound an impression on me as Eclipse Che. This cloud-based IDE is a true game-changer, transforming the way teams collaborate, develop, and deploy software. In this review, I'll delve into the exceptional features and benefits that make Eclipse Che an invaluable tool for developers. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Eclipse Che?

Eclipse Che's unique cloud-based architecture and extensive customization options may require a learning curve for developers who are accustomed to traditional desktop IDEs. Getting familiar with the cloud-native approach, workspace setup, and configuring custom development environments can take some time and effort.

Eclipse Che operates in the cloud, its performance can be influenced by factors such as network connectivity and the resources allocated to the cloud environment.

Eclipse Che heavily relies on internet access, as it requires a stable connection to access and work within the cloud-based environment.

As an online IDE, Eclipse Che relies on cloud storage and processing, raising potential concerns about the security and privacy of sensitive code and project data. Users should ensure they understand and trust the security measures implemented by the cloud provider or consider deploying a self-hosted instance of Eclipse Che for enhanced control.
