Also it can become difficult to keep your place when programming if you have a variety of products Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is DriveWorks solving and how is that benefiting you?

Solving the problem of creating usable dxf's & drawings for production in a timely manner. The time saved alone makes every penny spent worth 10,000...last year alone, my company cleared almost $20million using driveworks with solidworks to produce thousands of production runs...I can't really stress enough how powerful this tool can be. What do you like best about DriveWorks?

Speed and errorless Design configuration.

Earlier we are use to make sales and manufacturing drawing in AutoCAD in 2D. it take nearly 2 to 3 days and found error on later stage.

After using Drive works our drawing making time is reduce from to 2 to 3 days to 1 day and we are found and point out design fault at the time of making drawing.so we correct design at a time in drawing. and our design accuracy level will reached around 98%. What do you like best about DriveWorks?

DriveWorks is the best helping hand for users for SolidWorks using company whose customer wants each product customised by their own requirment.

Nest things i like is we can use this DriveWorks as a e-commerce site for a respected company also.

Where customers can login, add product as per their want, pay and next 2 minutes drawing are ready with auto email functions.

Also i like is DriveWorks email support team they are very fast to resolve any issues and help any time to their customers. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about DriveWorks?

DriveWorks 18 is far more improved from last 3-4 version. Each versions they are updating and resolving all the bugs.

What i dislike is before 2-3 days i want to rotate the textbox by 90° for UI requirment, that i can't do right now.ay be i hope they will update this also in next version. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering DriveWorks:

If you have a customized product as per customer wants and you want to move forward to industry 4.0 and if you want vanish this tons to hours of repeating work. The. DriveWorks is best for you. Its not necessary you are using SolidWorks or not although its a golden software for SolidWorks but we can use this only as CPQ with a very very easy manner. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is DriveWorks solving and how is that benefiting you?

I have completed many projects till yet in DriveWorks.

We also solved that we can use Microsoft Access database for company and can ise that database in to DriveWorks through connector and can generate drawings & sent emails through autopilot. Although we can use SQL but specific client only want to use Microsoft access database, but DriveWorks is eligible to solve that also.

I'm also working on new things are to add 3d dimensions in DriveWorks 3d preview. Currently there is no specific function to add 3d dimensions in UI in 3D preview but by use of a blank node and "3d Text" entity we can give it witha nicer way.

We solved that 3D dimensions issue by ghat way and client is very happy with that also.

Benefits i have realised is, error messages system is prevent any customer to add non feasible data as input which is very good also emails are working very fast and fine. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about DriveWorks?

Easy to automate, Structured approach and flow, easily integrated with other systems. The latest 3D update is really good. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about DriveWorks?

It only integrated with Solidworks can't think of anything else. The SDK of DW is a bit out of my understanding. This is not about DriveWorks but myself. My colleagues have made good use of API too. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is DriveWorks solving and how is that benefiting you?

Being a Mechanical background, Driveworks has given me the power to give smooth entry into the automation world. With DriveWorks, we are automating not only the client's design but also their workflow. The interactive UI with 3D functionality has given the power to the client's sales team to outperform and generate quotations in real-time. The model, drawing generation, and QC time got reduced significantly.

We are also using DW as a central system to manage the flow and track the data. It is also integrated with the ERP system.

We have implemented the flow where the data is filled in with a single click and all the process has been taken care of using an Autopilot.

Also, the DW support team has provided good support in whichever manner possible. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about DriveWorks?

My absolute favorite thing about DriveWorks is how deeply you can integrate it into your repetitive processes. DriveWorks was originally designed to help automate the creation of configurations of SOLIDWORKS CAD data, but has since expanded to a very wide variety of output formats: Word and Excel files, SQL and other external databases, .txt and .csv files, and more.

You can integrate directly with a PDM system, or initiate specifications from .xml data dumped into an internal folder. Your forms can be basic and filled out by engineering or sales, or they can be dynamic and visual and filled out by distributors or end customers. No matter how great or small you want your DriveWorks system to be, it can be tailored to those needs.

I've personally interacted with DriveWorks in a variety of capacities throughout my career. From ownership on down, I've never once had a negative experience with them. The co-founders have a shared passion for what they have created, and they also have a rare gift for finding and maturing the young talent they bring onto their team.

The result is a product that has been a leader in its field: ERP-based systems rarely provide the breadth of documentation or ability to customize an implementation, and DriveWorks' direct competitors (at least the two that I've evaluated) have always had something missing in comparison. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about DriveWorks?

The biggest difficulties with DriveWorks have little to do with the company, or it's product. As an administrator, your greatest challenge is defining the rules, logic and limitations of your process... and that's an INTERNAL problem.

If your procedures (or product) are highly complex or detailed, the effort it takes to automate (and troubleshoot any errors) increases in kind. Anyone getting involved with DriveWorks (or similar platform) would be wise to understand this prior to beginning their evaluation.

As with any automation system, you can make your DriveWorks implementation as simple or complex as you want it, as it is customized and designed by you (or a consulting partner, if you choose that route). But that is a double-edged sword: a simple implementation may be easy to put in place but not save as much overhead, and a complex one can require a long and involved project to put in place before reaping benefits from a further reduced cycle time.

I would happily contend that complex/deep implementations are well worth the added initial overhead, but that does require you to manage your expectations with company leadership. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering DriveWorks:

My first and foremost recommendation for a company evaluating DriveWorks is to audit your own process. One cannot automate a product/process that you do not understand. Check around with your sales or engineering teams, make sure that you understand and document the rules that govern these processes.

Equally important is to document the cost of your existing system. Document how much time your engineers spend to create custom CAD/Drawings/data entry (or, if implementing with your sales/distributor team, how much time is spent by sales or customer care to manage incoming sales details). Keep documenting this after you've implemented DriveWorks, and you will have a detailed record of how much money you've saved from automating your processes. This can go a long way towards pleasing Company Leadership as they evaluate the return on investment of the resources and capital that goes into an implementation. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is DriveWorks solving and how is that benefiting you?

Ostensibly, you buy DriveWorks because you want to automate the creation of new documents (such as SOLIDWORKS CAD drawings), although you can further automate a host of other output document formats (Word, Excel, exports to SQL or other database engines).

DriveWorks helps you document all of the rules that it takes to go from "order input form" to "custom configured output".

However, there is a second problem you are solving with DriveWorks: In order to implement DriveWorks into your company system, you need to audit, document and make repeatable all of the little rules and logic that govern your process. Making your processes DOCUMENTED and REPEATABLE is a major asset to your organization.

The most recent DriveWorks implementation that I did was at a company that did well to track how much time went into their process for creating custom drawings. We also tracked the overhead that went into DriveWorks implementation (capital resources for software, my burden rate for time spent on the project). The payback period was under a year, and we saw a decrease of over 50% of our Engineering team's time spent on drawing creation. The return on investment with DriveWorks is very, very real. Every software need time to mature. So there is no dislikes. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering DriveWorks:

It will help companies to spend time and money in new Research and Development but initially you have to be give time to understand and run the business. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is DriveWorks solving and how is that benefiting you?

We are using different manufacturing processes to manufacture same product in different manufacturing sites in our global presence. Due to global presence our manufacturing drawing also carrying different unit systems. With the Drive works, we are not bothered about unit system, material and manufacturing process. We need to select only manufacturing site location and Drive Works handled everything. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
