Great user interface - being able to visualise the data and go into a Column Details view for an in-depth profile of that variable makes it easy to understand and work with the data. Being able to either use drop-down menus for functions as a new user or to write and copy recipe steps as a more advanced user is great for teams with different levels of experience. The fact the functions heavily mirror Excel functions allows for a lot of skill cross-over. The ability of the system to make suggestions also makes it easy for anyone to use and not have to write extensive formulas. The output of wrangles for audit trails is also great - much clearer language than other systems I have used. The ability to share Flows within the team allows for greater collaboration and quality control. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It was a little tricky trying to find things at first and resources around making reference datasets and such were not as straight forward as other topics. Have also come across a few transformations we need that we cannot seem to find a way to do, but customer support has been great in trying to help out. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The focus at doing data preparation the best as it can be. A lot of companies are trying to be a "jack of all trades" but end up as a Master of None. That's not the case with Trifacta. It's sole purpose is to enable end-users, such as data and business analysts to prepare and wrangle data without the in-depth knowledge that is required of a skilled Data Engineer. The interface is interactive in it's way that it suggests you what to do next with your current data - so you never feel lost. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It's "source of power" is also it's weakness. It's very focused on the preparation process. Meaning it lacks the means of vizualization and in-depth integration with common databases. This gap gets smaller and smaller with each big update (E.G writing straight from Trifacta to Relational databases such as Oracle and Microsoft SqlServer) but it won't quite yet rival big integration-focused companies such as talend and informatica, in that regard. Great user interface. Trifacta has a simple to create recipes that you can then reuse over and over again. Dataset sizes are essentially unlimited in size and can be processed very rapidly. Rapid data analysis on large datasets sets it apart from other software. Great support if needed. The company listens to feedback. Secure for confidential data analysis. Simple interface keeps you coming back!
Loading of new projects - would prefer to have a choice to use a classic opening GUI interface as found in most programs. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The solution is intuitive and very powerful. I was able to set up and go about cleaning my data in minutes. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There were a few glitches unfortunately, but the support team has been able to assist extremely quickly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Where to start? Easy to learn to use, seamless integration with existing data sources, no need for business users to learn SQL. Remove any assumptions on data, just explore the data on trifacta. No need for IT support for business users to get datasets. Automatic audit trail. Trifacta is the most impactful data prep tool I have ever used Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Not so much a dislike, for large datasets the sampling function both is an advantage and disadvantage. Advantage is speed disadvantage is the edge case where the sample is not representative of the data. This can be solved by resembling or using the different sample functionality Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The fact that transforming big data doesn't require to have a powerful computer. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

AI, the ability of the system to sense the actions I'm looking to apply to data. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The system is way too rigid and does not allow for situation when the data might not always be exactly the same. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
