I am a user of the Cloud Dataprep version of Trifacta and for me the tight integration for both ingest and output within the Google Cloud Platform is amazing - building as it does on the fantastic functionality of Trifacta wrangling engine underneath. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I can find few faults in Trifacta nor Cloud Dataprep. I look forward to any expansion that may be coming with respect to further types of data input. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I like the dataprep product available on Google Cloud Platform. The vast amount of recipes available to transform your data. Almost any transformation is possible with it. The visual interface makes it easy for non tech users to use it with ease. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I would like the dataprep product to support more data sources like MongoDB. Not sure but if possible, I would like to dataprep to support some more coulmn types in bigquery like arrays. Once had to find a little workaround in my workflow. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I was looking for a solution to read/extract/transform a big flat file which is having 100M + records of 15GB data. After spending a few days trying different ETL tools, I found this tool via google cloud as google data prep. It really saved my time and I was able to complete my job in less than a few hours and I see my data stored in BigQuery. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Trifacta has great features but the User interface could have been better implemented so easy to understand Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

- wide range of integrations
- does not consume computing resource
- can be automated
- can be scaled
- covers almost every conceivable transformation
- easy to learn Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Trifacta is a bit too pricey. There is a free version as well, but that's very limited when one wants to test out some serious data wrangling project. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The power to profiling a very big data table in order to discover problems with data quality Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
That is not possible to use for streaming data analytics Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The ease of use and UI with suggestions. The drag and highlight feature on data to easy use Regex without using any code is quite amazing. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I am hearing the cost is too high and also want the tool to provide basics reporting and catalog as part of its offering. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The layout is very intuitive and easy to work with. Being able to see a profile of the data before a job is run is also extremely helpful. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There are a small handful of use cases that we can't use Trifcata for, but that is because of the nature of the data itself, not a true Trifacta issue. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Sampling data before pulling the whole dataset. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I have no dislikes, the tool works well, and the UI is intuitive... however, the deployment documentation might need a bot of work. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The training materials for Trifacta are really great, there’s several tutorials videos you can use anytime when trying to target a specific function you want to learn a lot more about. It’s pretty easy to use once you get the hang of it.
I like the flexibility of the product - its ability to handle multiple data sources and to combine them into a single view and build complex analytics. The infographics capabilities are powerful. They help us to quickly identify patterns, mismatches and give you a quick option to identify the issues you'll need to resolve before you run a job and get the desired output.
Simple UI to display small to large datasets, easiness to understand and use of the Modelling functionality. Anyone with minimal technical knowledge can easily build a recipe.
Another positive point is the cloud based system. You can use the wrangling platform anywhere as far as you have a good and reliable connection. I find it very scalable and effective solution to use.
Trifacta support Team is amazing. They’re very accessible and you can book a session with Dr Prep if you’re stuck and need help. They seem to always have someone available to assist you when you need it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Except for some minor connection issues now and then, we don't really dislike anything. We’ve been able to exactly get the desired outputs after wrangling several very large files. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
