Top Rated DCImanager Alternatives
Our main server location is in Germany. Data center engineers are very expensive there. DCImanager helps us save money, because we can control equipment remotely via IPMI.
Here's what we like the most:
1. Convenient system for processing customer requests. You can view data about the infrastructure: statistics, resource consumption by equipment, all this in a few clicks.
2. I like that you can create a huge infrastructure and manage it from a single point. When we want to scale our infrastructure, we quickly add new nodes and host virtual servers on them.
3. To introduce new equipment, we do not need to switch to new software - it is enough to make updates in a timely manner.
4. Agile development - our wishes are heard. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There is nothing superfluous in the product and there are no problems with it, or they are minimal and are solved within a couple of updates. Yes, there are questions about billing, all sorts of little things, but they are somehow solved. In the end, everything is more than convenient. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Segregation of logical parts under one panel is very helpful.

1. Servers and IT infrastructure can be managed from anywhere in the world. It doesn't matter where the data centers are located, as long as the administrators have access to DCImanager.
2. Support provides quick and comprehensive answers
3. Updates are released every 2 weeks. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
We use DCImanager with the WHMCS billing platform for service provisioning. We checked BILLmanager (a billing platform from DCImanager developers). It looks great and it would be wonderful to use the whole stack of ISPsystem solutions. But to do so BILLmanager should have needed flexibility with European taxes that we have in WHMCS. However, this is not a problem of DCImanager. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Historically DCIM solutions have a high entry threshold. You either have to overpay for a software (to meet the minimum price level), or you must overpay for an engineer (so that he/she can implement an open-source solution), or you must overpay for the time (because you will have to do everything manually). DCImanager minimizes these inconveniences and makes DCIM automation reachable almost everyone.
The product doesn’t have a high barrier of infrastructure level, which you should connect at the very beginning. Combine this with a user-friendly interface, detailed documentation, and free customer support. The set of functional capabilities covers the tasks of most enterprises that need to manage their IT infrastructure. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
For those who are accustomed to self-study, only documentation is available. It would be great to have more materials on product introductions in other forms like webinars from ISPsystem specialists, as well as videos on YouTube. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

We have two geographic locations (two data centers). With DCImanager, we were able to keep OS images separately for each location and not waste traffic by sending files with OS images from one location to another.
We love the modern user-friendly interface in the latest version of DCImanage. This is valuable for both clients and administrators. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I was sharing the development team with feedback that the new version of the platform was not implemented on 10/10. The team took these comments for revision. As far as I can see it in ChangeLog this feature was improved at the end of August 2020, but I haven't had time to test it yet. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The biggest benefit of using DCImanager is that we don't have to use lots of different software to work with the equipment of different vendors and to solve highly specialized tasks.
Another cool thing is its capabilities for network management. We’ve been having one DC for 60 racks with L2 topology, and now we also have a new DC with 50 racks, 2000 servers, and 20 units of network equipment with L3 topology and the Leaf-Spine architecture. DCImanager helps us to manage these 2 DCs from a single software ecosystem.
And since we have strong plans to expand, even more, it's great that DCImanager allows us to expand the infrastructure conditionally endlessly. We now have the ability to replace equipment without affecting customers.
I should also say that the DCImanager devs are attentive to feedback. The platform gets new features and improvements every two weeks. It is also great that ISPsystem pays attention not only to the technical aspects of the platform but also to the UX. We have extensive experience with software for administrators and engineers - the DCImanager interface can be a good example for other software developers. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The new 6th generation of DCImanager still lacks a few features that we use to have in the previous gen. For this reason, at the moment we simultaneously use the previous generation of the platform in the 1st DC, and the new generation in the 2nd. This imposes certain inconveniences, вut seeing the development team roadmap, we are sure to solve this by the near future. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The main advantage is the economy. We’re a small company with less than 50 employees. Plus, our segment in logistic services is highly competitive - we try to keep prices as low as possible. This is why we cannot rely on Enterprise-level solutions, where the cost of ownership is tens of thousands of dollars a year, and the level of administrators must be really high, which means higher salaries point. With DCImanager we get all the necessary things done and don’t have to overpay.
To work with DCImanager, my education in system administration and reading articles in documentation is enough. The interface is very user-friendly and modern. To understand the principles of the platform, it is enough to work in the interface for a couple of days. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
We use the latest generation of the platform, and some of the features that were previously available in the previous generation are still in development. The pace with which the updates are released suits us, something new appears every month. But everyone should decide for himself how critical it is to get a ready-made solution here and now, albeit with an overpayment. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
DCImanager allows us to control all our servers and automate server provisioning to clients. It’s very easy now to do operations that took like hours before (a client comes, orders a server, we process it manually, install the software manually, prepare it for the client, and only then, we give it to the customer). Now, it takes minutes. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I think it might be complex for some companies. We don’t use even 50% of all the functionality of the panel. I guess it’s not because it’s useless but because not everyone needs it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The DCIManager staff is incredibly helpful. They go above and beyond to ensure the tool is robust enough for every major requirement. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Sandbox and deployment can take time for serious hosting companies. It took us around 6-8 months to fully configure DCIManager for production use. The setup time is well worth it, if you plan to scale beyond 500 servers. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I love DCImanager, because it is capable of managing infrastructure of any scale, all kinds of servers. Track inventory and parts, and verify energy consumption. It is easy to use, has an incredible interface and is reliable. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
So far I have no complaints about DCImanager, it is an excellent application and it has not given us problems. This application has helped us a lot. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
