Daylite really is a very special data management product. Linking data in an intuitive manner is great and does save a lot of time and effort. The manner of accessing screens is very intuitive also and takes much of the hardship out of managing the various processes that one uses Daylite for. I originally purchased Daylite for objectives management but I use it in other innovative ways to manage information now. Email integration is a huge factor for me and really does make my life much easier Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
1 - No dark mode - I work from 4am and while all else on my iMac desktop is easy on the eyes (in dark mode), I have to put Daylite on a separate screen that I can switch off - or get a headache.
2 - Lack of a report or journal that allows me to select a day or week, and see everything that I touched in Daylite for that time period.
3 - Integrations....
-- Why do I have to pay for Merlin to get a Ghantt chart for organising and projecting timelines going forward?
-- Email marketing, tracking and management?
-- Signing contract documents? Making handwritten notes or at least scanning in a notebook page and having OCR process it?
-- Some of these solutions are open source so why do I need to take on other third party app's to 'talk' to Daylite?
== Every time I have to upgrade one of these third party app's, I need to go away and test it before putting it on a production server = time + money + a few headaches and God forbid.... some work arounds that become obsolete when the next upgrade of either Daylite or the app with the workaround comes along.
I tend to write notes because in what I do, banging words through a keyboard is not really and option when carrying a sensitive interview with a person for example. So I scan the notes and an app OCR's them and I then have searchable notes - but not in Daylite. I can save the image of the notes but that of itself is useless unless I type the notes out. An so I use a different app for this but that means using a different workflow with different results that do not harmonise with Daylite.
This is a problem for me and only Daylites excellent data management attributes has stopped me from moving to another app because of it. The issue for me is not convenience - it's the sensitivity of having to use multiple app's to manage data that may be subject to GDPR or is part of a legal process, and where data custody and tracking accountability becomes an issue. I enjoy the way Daylite allows me to organize my clients, opportunities, and tasks. I can easily see a few different panes of my most active cases, as well as any outstanding tasks and my daily schedule, all at once and have begun to use the Daylite calendar to organize my personal events as well as work events due to its integration with Apple Mail and Calendar. Any time we have needed assistance, the Marketcircle team helps us find a solution to keep Daylite running smoothy for our firm. It is the first thing open on my computer every day, and out of all the programs and platforms we use, causes us the least grief! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There is very little, but it seems like there is room for improvement on the automatic tagging feature when it comes to projects, contacts, and attachments from email. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

No Sync / Integration with Office 365
Like many small businesses, we use Microsoft 365 for Identity, Collaboration, File Repository and Email Hosting. There is no integration / sync from Daylite to Office 365 Calendar or Contacts. If you or your clients use MS Teams or Outlook for for calendar management / scheduling this is a HUGE pain point and prevents one from using Microsoft Booking functionality. Especially when you or clients need to reschedule events.
Not Compataible with MacOS Sonoma.
At the time of writing Daylite is not compatible with MacOS Sonoma due to issues with the Daylite Mail Assistant. Also - acessing customer support from the Australian timezone can be challenging.
UI Dated
Whilst there have been some recent improvements to the iOS UI, the MacOS is feeling a a bit dated/tired and would benefit from being modernised to improve user experience. Especially when entering data into objects

We have been using Daylite for about ten years and it is at the heart of our marketing operations. The contact management system is installed on my iPhone, Macbook Pro and other Apple devices, which means that I always have my entire database with me wherever I go. Because the question is asking me to focus on the negative aspects of the software, I have wracked my brain to try and think of things I dislike about the software. I can't think of anything. Native integration with all Apple platforms puts it ahead of other SAAS solutions for macOS users. Includes email, tasks, contact, calendars, and more. As an example, emails are automatically linked to matching contacts, accounts, opportunities, and/or projects regardless of which Apple platform you are using. And Daylite can support multiple email accounts simplifying your life if you are an independent consultant. I often have 3-6 different email accounts for various clients. Being a long-time Apple device user, Marketcirle's focus on Apple platforms is great for me. While this does make them somewhat unique for business applications, it does limit their user base. Even for relatively small organizations, there may be someone who needs access to the data but uses a Windows or Android device.
