"DataDome Delivers Smooth, Effective Bot Protection with an Easy-to-Use Console"
4.5/5
What do you like best about DataDome?

DataDome has proven very effective at detecting and blocking content-scraping bots. Its detection capabilities appear to rely on a mix of static signatures and sophisticated AI models, supported by extensive intelligence sources.

Integration was fairly smooth thanks to a ready-to-use SDK for common technology stacks. The onboarding process was supported by the DataDome team, and their support has been cooperative overall—responding to feedback and maintaining a genuine two-way conversation.

Day-to-day operation is not complicated. The management console is powerful while still being easy to use. It’s also fair to say we didn’t experience any significant latency after adding this additional component, and performance remained smooth.

That said, the price tag is rather steep. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about DataDome?

I think DataDome strikes a sophisticated balance between low false positives, low latency, and effective detection capabilities. Overall, the technical solution delivers a very good experience. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Intuitive but Improvable Ecommerce Protection"
4.5/5
What do you like best about DataDome?

I love the intuitive interface of DataDome, and the ease with which one can find the necessary information such as endpoints, custom rules, and logs. DataDome also allows for very quick visualization of what is happening across all incoming traffic of different sites, which I find particularly useful. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about DataDome?

In the suggestions, allow the user the possibility to work/customize the available KPIs further, which is not currently possible, and to create a custom KPI view per user. Also, the possibility to view logs in "raw" mode, similar to Elastic search. Additionally, the possibility to whitelist internal users/contractors via a key or a cookie that could be managed directly in the interface without going through custom rules. Lengthy due to the uncertainties of web and mobile app configurations. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"DataDome: rapid deployment, intuitive dashboards, and ultra-responsive support"
4.5/5
What do you like best about DataDome?

What I appreciate most about DataDome is its simplicity and speed of implementation. The solution integrates easily and allows for quick results. The dashboards are clear and intuitive, which makes daily monitoring and analysis easier. Finally, the support is a real strong point: always very responsive, with relevant answers tailored to our needs. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about DataDome?

To date, I have not identified any real negative points. The few areas for improvement raised in the past have been quickly addressed by the teams. For example, an improvement was made to the Explore section, where the readability of the responses was not optimal at first glance. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Effective bot management solution"
4.5/5
What do you like best about DataDome?

DataDome Bot Protect is a very mature and effective bot management solution, best used as a complement to a WAF.

Detection quality is excellent, with a consistently low false positive rate on high‑traffic B2B ecommerce platforms, which is critical from a business standpoint.

The product has evolved significantly over the past years, with regular improvements and new capabilities that clearly show ongoing investment and roadmap execution.

It adapts well to new classes of automated traffic and evolving bot behaviors while remaining stable in production.

Integration is straightforward thanks to solid native connectors and APIs.

Support is responsive, technically skilled, and able to engage at an architectural level; French‑speaking support is also a strong plus for European teams. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about DataDome?

Pricing can become a challenge over time as traffic scales, and cost governance requires continuous attention in high‑volume environments.

Client‑side integration is strongly recommended for optimal efficiency; relying on server‑side protection alone may be limiting for some API‑centric or machine‑to‑machine use cases.

Data retention remains relatively short, which can make long‑term trend analysis harder without exporting data to external systems. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Effective but Limited Protection for AIs"
3.5/5
What do you like best about DataDome?

I appreciate the quality support and assistance in adapting filtering rules by the DataDome team. If needed, the team quickly adapts the rules that might cause issues. The initial setup was easy. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about DataDome?

DataDome is currently unable to block bots while allowing AI agents like ChatGPT or Gemini to pass. We would like to be referenced on the LLM. DataDome is struggling to identify a user using ChatGPT to scrape our site compared to a legitimate user. Moreover, DataDome is very expensive. If it fails to solve the LLM issue, we will probably consider switching to another service like Cloudflare. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Reliable Protection with Strong Support and Smooth Performance"
4.5/5
What do you like best about DataDome?

DataDome is a highly effective bot protection solution that delivers strong, real-time security with low false-positive rate without disrupting legitimate users, which has been critical for maintaining both security and a smooth customer experience.

The intuitive dashboard provides clear visibility into traffic and threats, making monitoring and reporting straightforward.

We highly appreciate the attentive and knowledgeable Datadome team. From setup to ongoing questions, their responsiveness and support have been top-tier. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about DataDome?

If we had to mention one downside, it would be that the initial setup and fine-tuning can take a bit of effort, especially for more complex environments. However, once everything is properly configured, the platform runs smoothly and requires minimal ongoing maintenance. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Industry-Leading Bot Protection with Seamless Integration and Exceptional Support"
5/5
What do you like best about DataDome?

Industry-Leading Detection: The most sincere compliment I can give is that our reputation precedes us; we’ve heard at industry conferences that our services are among the most difficult to scrape. DataDome’s ability to distinguish between sophisticated "gray" traffic and legitimate users—without adding friction—is exceptional.

Seamless Integration & Flexibility: One of DataDome’s greatest strengths is the "speed to value." For our standard stacks, the pre-built integrations are robust and stable. However, for our more complex, custom architectures, their well-documented public API allowed our engineering teams to implement protection exactly where we needed it without compromising performance.

A True Partnership in Support: Unlike many "set-and-forget" SaaS vendors, DataDome provides a high-touch support experience. Having access to their team via a dedicated Slack channel and a responsive support portal has been a game-changer. Whether it’s a routine query or a high-pressure mitigation event, they act as an extension of our own team rather than just a service provider. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about DataDome?

While the platform itself is highly reliable and performs as advertised, we are currently navigating the broader industry shift toward Agentic AI.

The Challenge of AI Agents: We are facing complex questions regarding how to evolve bot protection when the line between a malicious bot and a legitimate AI agent acting on behalf of a human begins to blur. Shaping protection policies in this new era is a significant challenge for any security stack.

A Collaborative Evolution: That being said, this isn't so much a "dislike" of the product as it is an observation of the current landscape. We recognize that DataDome is at the forefront of this research. We are actively working with them to define how to handle these autonomous agents to ensure we remain protected without blocking the next generation of legitimate user tools. "Easy Deployment, Seamless Integration, and Strong Visibility Into Threats"
4.5/5
What do you like best about DataDome?

The platform is also easy to deploy and integrates well across websites, apps, and APIs, giving consistent protection across all channels. On top of that, the visibility and analytics it provides make it easy to understand traffic patterns and respond quickly to emerging threats. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about DataDome?

One downside of DataDome is that its strict bot detection can occasionally impact legitimate users, leading to false positives and added friction if not carefully tuned. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Effective Bot Protection with Room for Improvement"
3/5
What do you like best about DataDome?

I like that DataDome has a dashboard that's really straightforward to use, especially when comparing it to some of the competitors. I also appreciate the security capabilities of their product for bot protection, which are pretty competent with competitive pricing. Additionally, the initial setup was fairly straightforward, and they offer modules to integrate with most major languages and frameworks, making it pretty easy. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about DataDome?

I guess the primary problems with DataDome are that they seem not responsive enough to changes. We have multiple situations where we were waiting for certain improvements and those improvements took a really long time to be implemented. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Great product, brilliant onboarding experience, great support"
5/5
What do you like best about DataDome?

DataDome really is your one stop shop if you want to get rid of bots, spiders and the like. It runs pretty much on autopilot and you can focus on your core business again. The onboarding was super professional and a real pleasure.

UPDATE: After more than two years with DataDome, we really couldn't be happier with the service. It has been truly transformational for our IT operations. Thank you, DataDome!

UPDATE 2 (2026): Following two additional years of successful collaboration, we have extended both our partnership and contract with DataDome. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about DataDome?

Nothing really. In fact, the service doesn't appear to be cheap first, but absolutely pays off. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
