What do you like best about Database Observability?

Simple to set up with command line, powershell module makes it easier for adding targets, managing them, conditions are directly exported. You just need to create yours additionally. Variety of actions, using powershell as an action is a big plus. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

There is a room for improvement of performance monitoring

Sometimes, checking top sql can be complicated, just because of the gui. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Database Observability solving and how is that benefiting you?

We use Sentryone as a monitoring system, we monitor our databases, and set actions. Like send mail, execute powershell

For example when a sql service is down, sentryone detects it and execute a powershell on target and starts the service.

When there is failover, we use again send mail condition to create Pagerduty calls for DBA who is on call.

Other than this, we also monitor blockings and deadlocks, performance issues with certain queries etc. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Database Observability?

DPA is absolutely essential for any business using SQL Servers.

It has tools that help you quickly determine the root cause of issues of what happened at a certain time as it keeps a history.

It features a great alert system as well for when something is going wrong.

We often use it to analyze over 60 production databases.

It can assist in providing possible solutions on indexes for some problematic queries.

All of the above is easy to use and quick to get.

Customer support is fantastic and their personnel has only been helpful when I needed them. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Database Observability?

It is not useful to analyze an immediate occurring problem as you have to wait a bit till the data is logged and displayed. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Database Observability solving and how is that benefiting you?

When we see delays or blocking our applications we can quickly go to DPA and see what is going on.

We can the analyse the current queries and see if there are Wait delays and their root cause, or resource utilization. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Database Observability?

I am very good at monitoring SQL Server. I can improve the efficiency of my database by keeping track of my progress in real time. For me it was how simple it was to replace the panels and use overall. Finding and fixing speed issues is made much easier with our systems enhanced notifications. By conducting thorough study and providing detailed reports, I was able to enhance query performance and optimise resource utilisation with my databases. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Database Observability?

For me as a new user, setting up more advanced features might take some longer. I feel that the price is way too high for me and other individuals and small companies but the features are like tasty donuts. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Database Observability solving and how is that benefiting you?

When it comes to monitoring and improving SQL Server, I find SolarWinds SQL Sentry to be the best solution. A lot of information, notifications, and analysis was great. Fixing issues, speeding up queries, and making better use of resources were all greatly assisted by it. My system became more efficient as a result and now Im achieving super speed. What do you like best about Database Observability?

SQL Sentry is truly one centralized solution where you can monitor all SQL server performance, issues, logs, and reports.

The performance metrics SQL Sentry provide is not just bar graph like the other tools display, it is calculated value that shows the true status of the SQL server.

When there is an issue to troubleshoot such as deadlock, you don't need another tool to get the plan or script to analyze, all required information is on one screen. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Database Observability?

Sometimes, when there is a WMI issue, it stops working and doesn't get refreshed even after WMI issue is fixed.

It would be better to add refresh button on the server level. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Database Observability solving and how is that benefiting you?

Most of SQL server issues can be solved in SQL sentry alone and UI and functions are designed for DBA.

You don't really need a manual to understand or use, you can easily find what you need if you think as DBA. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
