What do you like best about Cycle?

Cycle gives us what we need to run our app without extra fuss. Their support team is quick to help, making it easy to start using the platform. This helps our team work faster and get more done. Because Cycle is simpler to manage, we spend less time on upkeep and save money. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Cycle?

While I appreciate Cycle's rapid innovation, sometimes the documentation lags a bit behind the latest updates. This occasional gap is a small trade-off for the platform's constant improvements. It would be great to see the docs keep pace with the new features. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Cycle solving and how is that benefiting you?

Cycle solved a big problem for our small startup. We couldn't afford a DevOps team, so our web developers had to manage our system setup. This was hard for them and caused issues. With Cycle, our engineers can now easily handle our system needs. We have fewer problems and save time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Cycle?

As a founder, one of the unspoken elephants in the room is cloud infrastructure - which provider, which region, routing tables, CIDR configs, the list and technical upkeep do not end. With Cycle, I was able to deploy services 10x faster with minimal experience in DevOps. This is truly a game-changer. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Cycle?

I wished I would have found this product back in 2018 when I was first starting to build applications as a developer getting started in building platforms and also advising other ventures. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Cycle solving and how is that benefiting you?

In the venture capital industry, platforms are either outdated or only solve one problem in isolation. With Cycle, our engineering team was able to implement our executive leadership's vision effectively and efficiently. Three main benefits are:

- Simplicity: Cycle is an approachable admin panel for both experienced architects or first-time developers

- Flexibility: Cycle helps you deploy from an advantageous, abstracted view of the infrastructure world without having to become an expert

- Dependability: Cycle allows for quick instance deploys so I can focus on application layers where more customer value is created than VM volumes and CPU scaling Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Cycle?

The amount of incoming work we had before Cycle was a lot to manage. With Cycle, the whole team agreed that we’d be able to quickly set up our environments and onboard new clients - all the while migrating existing projects so that we had one place to manage everything.

Now things are more simple. On average, Cycle saves us about 10-20 hours per week with our managed projects, which is something we’re focused on growing. Every time we add a project to Cycle, we see that number increase. It translates to thousands of dollars in savings per month without even considering the cost impact of not needing a specialized engineer. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Cycle?

At the end of the day, scaling a dev shop really comes down to how much value you can deliver on each project. With Cycle, that’s been a lot easier for us. With that said, their dev team is quick to help if any problems arise, so there are no negatives. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Cycle solving and how is that benefiting you?

We don't need to worry about hiring specifically for DevOps or cloud skills. We can teach new developers containers pretty quickly, and the Cycle team is very hands on with helping which is a great resource. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Cycle?

Our team implemented Cycle near end of year in 2019, since then, we've referred to Cycle as the "easy button." -- Immediately after implementation, we saw a tremendous amount of value.

We were looking for something that could simplify and automate the DevOps side so our team could stay focused on building out our core. With Cycle, we saw a way to accomplish that goal quickly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Cycle?

I only have pros for Cycle. Using the platform means we can operate without hiring specialized DevOps engineers, which saves us so much time and money. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Cycle solving and how is that benefiting you?

We can easily deploy infrastructure, orchestrate our containers, and take advantage of modern container deployment strategies. We achieve this with far fewer error-prone configuration files or the need for specialized engineering hires that would have been necessary with other options. What do you like best about Cycle?

First and foremost, at Red Dot, we focus on data security. Cycle.io provides us with an industry-leading level of security and comfort that allows us to continue to scale operations without degradation in protection.

I never deviate from our secure, risk-averse strategy when it comes to protecting our data, which is a must in the healthcare space. I view Cycle.io as an enhancement to this strategy that has the added benefit of allowing a laser focus on core competencies, which takes a ton of pressure off our team. We can easily choose where and how to allow access to an application and, at the same time, eliminate the possibility of small oversights in configurations that could lead to security vulnerabilities. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Cycle?

There is nothing to dislike. As our team continues to scale up, I can see that our partnership with Cycle is more than a means to an end; cycle is a vital part of our team and growth strategy. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering Cycle:

I highly suggest if you're looking to reduce cost and increase your control, consider cycle.io Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Cycle solving and how is that benefiting you?

We were expecting to hire two full-time DevOps engineers to facilitate the management of our growing portfolio of applications and hedge against the inherent technical debt of other solutions we had considered, such as Mesos and Kubernetes.

With Cycle, we were not only able to completely skip over hiring dedicated DevOps engineers, saving us ~$275,000 a year, but also bring our existing team fully up to speed within a week of use. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Cycle?

The technical expertise the Cycle staff offers is incredible. But where they truly shine is their customer service and support. It is second to none. Whether you are a small client or a large enterprise client, you feel like you are their only client. So impressed and would highly recommend them! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Cycle?

Honestly, I have been with them for over two years, and there is nothing I can say bad about Cycle. They are just a fantastic technology partner. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering Cycle:

If you want state-of-the-art technology and incredible support, Cycle is the perfect partner for your business. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Cycle solving and how is that benefiting you?

We needed a server that could handle our international traffic demands. Until we came on board with Cycle and their container technology, our website would often crash during peak periods. Cycle solved that. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Cycle?

Kubernetes solutions compete directly with Cycle. They both tackle the same space. So what is the difference?

The difference is time. Kubernetes is the kitchen sink. To get moving on it, one must dedicate a significant initial spend in time and money by climbing the steep learning curve or hiring an expensive FTE to handle the details.

This reality can be hard to swallow for a lean startup that wants to progress rapidly with deployments while ensuring that scale is there when the time comes.

Cycle presents an attractive alternative. If you know how to build a docker image and not much else, you have everything you need to begin deploying your production and stage environments. Their UI is slick and approachable. The API that powers it is well-documented for your scripted use if required. The feature set contains all the essentials for a startup to go from zero to scale without the need for a full-time operations specialist. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Cycle?

As nicely designed as their UI is, the API itself appears to take precedence, so the web interface tends to trail it in features and bug fixes. Some enhancements to the real-time updating on the web console are needed. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering Cycle:

Understand your requirements and the next one or two years of scale objectives. Dive into the interface and run some test deploys. Run through the docs; they're thorough, concise, and short. It shouldn't take you more than a day to know if Cycle will meet your needs. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Cycle solving and how is that benefiting you?

Cycle has freed us from the huge spend a startup might otherwise take in deploying a stable and scaleable operational environment. We went from one full-time dedicated devops to just a few hours a month for our regular engineers. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Cycle?

Cycle's web GUI makes it very easy to use and accessible when managing container orchestration. Their staff has been great with continuous development of new and requested features as well as troubleshooting any bugs that appear. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Cycle?

I haven't run into many downsides, but if I had to nitpick a few there were some bugs early on with deploying our data to stateless services on AWS. Their team discovered this flaw and walked us through every step of the way to ensure all of our data was securely migrated onto stateful services. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Cycle solving and how is that benefiting you?

Container orchestration which would have initially required a team of engineers, became a cinch for a small team like ours. Ever since its initial setup, Cycle's services run tirelessly in the background and I have not needed to spend any significant amount of time hands on. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
