CrowdTangle allows me to see how our organization's Facebook and Instagram posts do compared to a wide competitive set. Based on that, we can make decisions about programming and social framing. Seeing what posts are "overperforming" has been an invaluable asset and gives important insight into what's working in our social media strategy. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I wish CrowdTangle had a historic overview. I can see which posts have been overperforming over the past six hours, but I can't go back further than that. Sometimes the day is busy and I forget to look at how a specific post has done shortly after it posted; when I do remember to check, it's too late for me to know. It practically takes all the backend data from facebook and other platforms and makes it visually appealing and easy for the user the search through it using OCR and other methods that are not usually accessible to everyone, these do help in Fact checking, trends analysis and other matters related to data intelligence, no other platform has similar features. Filtering options and the intelligence sections is quite intuitive in terms of you will find what you are looking for defiantly, the pre made lists by the platform makes your life easier to know mode in specific about media outlets, governmental and other lists that are pre made. Since it's owned by Facebook, CrowdTangle has the best and most reliable engagement data for Facebook and Instagram. It's quite easy to set up dashboards that display the top posts of a day for a topic on Facebook, Instagram, or Reddit. It would be helpful to have full Boolean search capabilities when constructing searches. It also is limited to Facebook, Instagram, Reddit, and recent Twitter posts, so it can't be relied upon as a full social listening solution. While the dashboards do a great job at showing top posts, there's no simple way to see how many total posts match a search for a certain period. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I mostly use the platform for the Intelligence tool for weekly/monthly recaps across Facebook and Instagram. It's a great tool for seeing top performers and trends over time. I also like that I can monitor competitive brands and discover trending pieces or content that has spiked during a time period. Beyond just engagement data like comments, shares, video views etc, I wish there was a way to see traffic data as well. It would be helpful if there was a "link clicks" tab that was tied to Google Analytics that would give some topline sessions data across social platforms. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Creating lists of account to monitor on Facebook, Instagram and Reddit is the most powerful and insightful feature of the tool.
