The idea the everything from the ground up is a customizable data structure. You don't have to fit into a pre-build mold like Wordpress where things are either a "Page" or a "Post." That's not how most sites are - usually there are complex data structures that the user needs to customize, and Craft gives you that control. On top of the customization, database backups are a synch, the asset management tooling is phenomenal, the back-end editor is really pretty, and there's so much more too. You gotta try it! The only thing that I would dislike is that it's not 100% free. I think it's a great CMS, and I get why it's not free. But if it were, you could get a lot more buy-in from business-minded folk. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Craft CMS is an intuitive content management system that allows you to design custom page layouts using content fields and blocks that directly reference your website's code templates. The best thing about Craft CMS is the customizability with which the content management system allows you to build specific layouts for different sections (organized into either "channels" or "structures") of your website. Another benefit is the versioning of pages and other "entries" in your website, as well as live preview editing, which allows users to see their changes take effect on the website in real time. One of the bigger drawbacks to Craft CMS is the significant learning curve it can take some users to overcome in order to properly use the content management system. Fortunately, there are several plug-ins available that you can add to the content management system that can streamline user training, such as by building a "user guide" as a "Help" structure. The best part of Craft CMS is that it has no assumptions about the website you are attempting to build. You spend time building the site you want, not trying to convert a CMS to be something different with dozens of plugins. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Currently, deployments of updates can be a little complicated with Composer and utilizing the Craft CMS project config files. But, this is constantly improving and I imagine within another year, many issues we run up against will go away. They are constantly improving things. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Clean layout of the software makes it quite intuitive to get to where you need to quickly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Text heavy layout, could be made more visually appealing. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Intuitive interface with important backend features (SEO, page ranking); easy to organize tiles for feature pages. Scalable—easy to build new pages. For all intents and purposes, I could use Craft without needing development support 95% of the time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Text formatting is challenging—always running into snafus with styling. New page formats were challenging to build (required dev work) Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The back end is user-friendly and once you get a good-looking website it is extremely easy to keep it up to date. We are not web designers, but we don't want to have to pay our web designer each and every time we have an update. The few problems we have had (see below) were relatively easy to fix. Recently we were hacked, and we had a fake landing page for a scam website added to our page randomly. That was not fun. For a platform that bills itself as a more secure alternative to WordPress, that was disheartening. I know there's no such thing as a hacker-proof site, but still! Extremely flexible CMS that doesn't feel like you are hacking it to accommodate requirements. Come with a great blend of base features, so it doesn't feel like you have to remove features that seem in the way. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Wish there was a cloud hosting offered, so we could just hand off clients vs setting up and maintaining the host for each client. In our experience, Craft often gets compared to Umbraco in the .NET world and they provide that offering. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I love how easy it is for people to to start using it. Also love the whole support of of the community! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Not much actually, maybe it is missing some video tutorials. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
