The system is able to manage many hundreds of editors, thousands of pages and assets in a very simple, easy to use way.
We’ve used the system now for well over a decade for multiple sites and it’s proved reliable and adaptable for our needs.
The support and maintenance side has kept us up-to-date allowing us to reach our global audience with ease. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
After almost 10 years of the "old fashioned" code model the move to react was quite a steep learning curve for us. However, now we are a couple of years in we are seeing major benefits. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Contensis is headless, allowing developers to create web applications in the language that works for them. The CMS interface is clean and easy to use Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Contensis have developed their product very rapidly and there is a shortfall in documentation, which is currently being addressed Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Although it is initially confusing developing components in Contensis it becomes more familiar and versatile.
We have been using the classic version but am happy that a migration pathway is becoming available. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Highly capable but still has room for improvement with forms.
Some quirks that can prove challenging without prior knowledge of the full ui options.
I also don't like that you only have one thing open at a time.
Support hub is a bit challenging to keep track of tickets sometimes. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I like that it's user-friendly - as someone who is more creative than technical, I can work easily in contensis. I'm very much looking forward to the new Canvas tool. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Uploading images to the banner is very frustrating as I have to use photoshop beforehand to size the image correctly. Also, not having the option of deleting multiple items at the same time creates very time-consuming tasks. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Contensis has allowed us to fulfil our business objectives since it replaced our previous CMS (Immediacy) in 2015. During our procurement process, we needed to find an innovative and friendly CMS company. Zengenti is both.
By using the Enterprise edition on a cloud-hosted platform, we've been able to support our associated businesses, and we currently have 15 websites powered by the CMS - including our main council website and intranet. Because we use cloud hosting, the Zengenti team handle all of our upgrades and support. This allows us to focus on our responsibilities rather than the CMS's working environment.
The introduction of content types and entries has proved to be a substantial progression for us. We currently use content types and entries with Vue.js code on Contensis Classic. As all our sites are using Contensis Classic, we're now looking into expanding the server-side delivery with blocks. As we have the latest version and the reverse proxy option, we hope to be able to deliver this incrementally. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It's difficult to find anything negative after working with Contensis for the past eight years and witnessing its growth. We understand the ongoing evolution of the headless CMS while remaining confident that Contensis Classic remains a powerful content management system for large organisations. The content management system is easy for developers and content editors to navigate and use and has a simple user interface. Content editors can manage their pages and content without experience with development code. The content management system allows us to use multiple development languages and keeps our web presence modern and up-to-date with emerging technologies.
The product is kept up-to-date, with regular updates; the support provided by Zengenti is also good, with the provision of a standard help desk and an active community on Slack.
Zengenti also provides a series of regular webinars to learn about new features or essential industry development topics, such as digital accessibility and search. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
If you do not currently have REACT developers employed, there can be a steep learning curve when using a headless content management system over a traditional one. We found this to be our only challenge. However we still have the option to use Contensis Classic, which we are currently happy with. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Contensis is intuitive and includes many great features that help guide our subject matter experts as they use the system and enter content. The ability to customize content types by adding fields with different properties (i.e. text fields, rich text formats, images, accordion lists, etc.) makes it really easy to create sections and pages tailored to user needs. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
We have multiple subject matter experts that approve content depending on the topic, however, there is no way in Contensis to send content for approval to a specific approver. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Contensis, in cloud form, is an incredibly easy, user friendly CMS which has a large number of extremely useful features built in. It's generally stable and can cope with the demands of a large organisation. The ease of creating and editing pages is the biggest plus point in my role. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Broadly speaking, there's not much I don't like. I feel that the permissions system could be easier to use by removing or at least making it optional to remove some layers. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Contensis is continuously developed and worked on to be the best version of itself and of cms systems out there. Their level of support is also really beneficial to our success. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
My dislikes although minor, have actually been covered as new developments during their recent velocity event. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
