Codebeamer is powerful and flexible. We can customize and configure our projects to capture exactly the data we need and align with our existing processes and workflows. Codebeamer lets us easily show traceability between requirement specifications, test runs, risk items, and releases. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Codebeamer has a broad range of capabilities and is highly configurable. Some users might find that codebeamer can have a steep learning curve as compared to simpler software. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
So far we still have very limited knowledge with Code Beamer. The tool is efficient to support various processes. The template modification is easy. The training and support from Intland are very quick and professional. Very much appreciated here! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
We would appreciate that the default template is more tailored to support basic development processes. The biggest challenge/surprise for us is to actually define everything from scratch, while we believed that using CB would ensure us the compliance to the standard processes (like proposed by Matlab/Simulink). Well, this can also be a misunderstanding from our side from the very beginning... Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The flexabitliy in being able to tailor processes based upon our needs without having to rely on additinal consultants or level 3 or 4 vendor support. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Some additional feature sets or widgets would be helpful (Gantt Charts etc). Codebeamer is great from an Agile / Product Owner perspective, but we have reverted to using other systems for traditional Project Management. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
One-stop-shop solution for software lifecycle management; no patchworking of individual tools; homogenous VCS management and integration; Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
tracker config (layout) and permission management sometimes tideous; user management concerning users, roles, and groups is too multi-layered; control of anonymous access non-intuitive and limited. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
This solution offers a lot in a single package. All the expected functionality is present in requirement management, manual test management, agile project management, and document management. Some areas go well beyond the usual and offer exceptionally rich functionality or ease of use. Such areas are e.g. reviews and the import features, which include excellent ReqIF support.
The system has been designed form ground up to fullfill the needs of regulated industries, with emphasis to issues like traceability, electronic signatures, audit log etc. Industry-specific templates are available and they can expedite on-boarding.
The user interface has a clear and fresh look. Even system administration is fairly straightforward, although in many cases, one has to revert to JSON editing. Everything can still be managed through the web interface.
The hosted environment has been very dependable with no performance issues, and support from Intland helpful. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Exporting decent documents is not as easy as it could. Getting the Word templates correct takes a lot of trial and error, and options for conditional formatting and content are limited. This tool would benefit significantly from a good integrated reporting engine.
Some terminology choices are unfamiliar to casual users; not many have heard of "trackers" before.
The system relies very heavily on various templates, meaning also that there are very few options for global data configuration. You have to have our company-specific templates ready before creating new projects, or you end up duplicating configuration changes to several projects.
My client is using codebeamer X, and it shares its foundation with the more mature codebeamer. The user's guide of codebeamer X is written on a high-level only, and with many technical issues one has to revert back to the codebeamer user's guide. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

During the selection process for codebeamerX it was clear it had the best UI out of all of the candidate software. We worked with a few companies to conduct user trials and out of all of them our engineers commented that it felt like the easiest software to use with minimal training. As the lead engineer in selecting codebeamerX the staff we very helpful, showed how codebeamerX could be tailored for our requirements and overall felt like they wanted to help us, not just sell us a software tool. Some of the views could be more customizable, but this is a small problem fixed by an easy workaround. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
With minimal effort, codebeamer integrates with most PLM solutions to enable end-to-end traceability and provides OOTB templates to meet functional safety guidelines for various industries. I managed ALM/PLM integrations and saw firsthand how codebeamer supported most use cases with minimal effort for Customers in different industries (Automotive/Hi-tech/Heavy Equipment). I didn't see anything that this product was missing. I do think more on-demand training videos would help. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
For the first instance, I had in house training. The training material, trainer expertise, and overall training workflow was best and easy to understood.
Now I am using CB for most of the project work which includes all the aspects. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I can not find dislike but long term feedback from the Users would be a good idea and implement the required change to meet the trend. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Its richness of features, configurability, and input/export capabilities. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Traceability browser is quite cumbersome to use and lacks a visualisation of the items and the links between them. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
One tool for all Development related activities such as Requirements Management, Testing, Risk, but also Project Management (well suited for agile PM methods), Knowledge sharing (Wiki).
Easy to learn and be productive quickly - especially thanks to provided Project Templates, many Video Tutorials and good documentation.
Well suited for collaboration with external partners, thanks to granular Groups and Roles settings.
Good configurability (flexible enough, but not overcomplicated), Video Tutorials also for advanced topics such as Word export Templates.
Good support. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I'd appreciate a better integration with other tools such as Enterprise Architect or PLM Systems. There is some potential for improvement. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
