I dislike that you have to submit multiple times on CMiC in order to get the fields to accurately save. For example, on an RFI if you want to change it from open to answer complete and keep the date and name of the EOR who responded, you have to edit and submit multiple times. Seems to be a software stuck in the 90s. Very bad UX or lack of a designed UI/ UX i should say. I cannot say I have enjoyed working in CMiC even once. Doesn't feel very collaborative as it's clunky to add external users and visualization is very week. Needs major overhaul to come to terms with current day and age. I love sending RFIs to the architect through cmic because it helps track questions, responses, and documents pertaining to that document. I also use this to send cost to the owner as well as submittals to the architect. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

For some reason, the last few months documents are not being uploaded into the system.

There are always glitches. Our balances are always off because the system has a glitch and changes a number and then you spend hours trying to figure out why the balances are off. When you try to contact support they always tell you 'I have created a ticket for this item' or 'it is in programming' and if they fix anything, it takes months. They try to charge you for any little change you want in a report. We have one report that is always off because of a glitch in the system they can't fix so we have to use a different report but the other report doesn't have everything we need displayed on it. I like that the software encompasses all parts and items of construction accounting. The software allows you to enter whatever information you'd like and will highlight red if it is incorrect. I dislike that quite often I will go through every line item needed and enter a value for the retention for example and when I refresh the page, the values entered do not save and are recalculated to the base 10% and I have to go and re enter the information all over again. CMiC allows for the capturing of data in a rigid format, meaning you won't miss/lose important pieces of information. If you have someone who is skilled in software integration, you can set up a system that writes strong, consistent subcontracts. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

It is often difficult to drill down the information you need and has a steep learning curve. The rigidity also makes it difficult to integrate with other software. When doing cost reviews from the enterprise side, you will often have to have multiple windows open and be prepared to wait if you are a larger contractor because the system often takes a while to load.
