I love it because everything is captured in one centralized software. As a result, there’s no duplicate data entry, fewer reconciliation errors, and everyone is working from the same numbers. CMiC tightly links job costing, billing, payroll, procurement, and forecasting into one workflow. I especially like the real-time cost tracking against budget, the better margin protection, and the faster, more accurate billing cycles. The BI Reports are really helpful for tasks like payroll reconciliation, year-end reconciliation, and various analyses. I like that the platform offers a lot of functions and find the Query and Log menu to be very useful tools for getting desired results and information. Additionally, I recently configured CMiC with Smart Barrel for time punch in and out, and it effectively syncs data from Smart Barrel devices across multiple locations, allowing me to consolidate timesheet data efficiently. **What do you dislike about CMiC Platform?** Sometimes the interface does not work without any message of issue pop up. Some functions are limited in use. For instance, in a multi-company environment, the system doesn't take the WSIB rate from the project company but from the payroll company, even though the payroll company charges back to the project company. Implementation was not easy and required a significant investment of time, effort, and resources, both financially beyond the system cost and in terms of time. It is easy to set up, the modules are thorough and well organized with some proper setup by your IT team. The features I liked best were the quickness in exporting data in order to examine and resolve issues. **What do you dislike about CMiC Platform?** The training docs we not useful when we implemented back in 2014. It took us a year to properly document document our processes and train our staff. The system, training cost by CMiC reps was very expensive as well. Annual support fees seems to increase each year. **What problems is CMiC Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?** Coming from a financial/accounting background with many years of experience with ERP systems, I found CMiC easy to use. The balance of the users outside of Accounting honestly struggled to grasp, and there was a large number of errors that users created that IT and Accounting had to fix daily. ### 35. Reach out to other similar industries that use CMiC to see what tools they use and how they set up and utilized. It is an organized program with many different reports.Allows you to maintain a customer database, keep a calendar, upload files all in one place. **What do you dislike about CMiC Platform?** There are always glitches. Our balances are always off because the system has a glitch and changes a number and then you spend hours trying to figure out why the balances are off. When you try to contact support they always tell you 'I have created a ticket for this item' or 'it is in programming' and if they fix anything, it takes months. They try to charge you for any little change you want in a report. We have one report that is always off because of a glitch in the system they can't fix so we have to use a different report but the other report doesn't have everything we need displayed on it. They said it would cost $4,000 to add two columns to a report. **Recommendations to others considering CMiC Platform:** I'm not aware of what other software is out there but if you're between CMIC and another program that does everything else CMIC does, I would go with the other program. The software allows you to enter whatever information you'd like and will highlight red if it is incorrect. Other programs will not let you input information due to the settings - but many times there are exceptions! **What do you dislike about CMiC Platform?** I dislike that quite often I will go through every line item needed and enter a value for the retention for example and when I refresh the page, the values entered do not save and are recalculated to the base 10% and I have to go and re enter the information all over again. **Recommendations to others considering CMiC Platform:** It's a good software that most will be able to catch on with ease. The rigidity also makes it difficult to integrate with other software.
