Press Releases are simple, and the platform is outlined thoroughly. I love the different fields to fill out that emphasize sections like a specific quote you want to be shared. As I mentioned previously, the platform is very user-friendly and is easy to navigate and submit press releases. Once the release is posted, I like the fact that you recieve an email notification, and after a few days, you then recieve a follow up email with metrics showcasing how the press release is performing (in terms of reach, etc.) And as a side note, PR Newswire has great customer service. I did have one issue with a release that wasn't posted on our website. The issue was fixed however so it wasnt a huge problem. I guess the only thing I would say is that the issue was something we caught, it was not caught by PR Newswire. PRNewswire is the service we use when we have our biggest stories, our most significant announcements, such as the opening of our half-billion dollar new hospital. The user interface can be confusing for someone who uses the tool infrequently. The user portal times out without autosaving, so it needs to be done all at once or manually saved. There are a lot of extra options for additional fees that are distracting when adding a release. The metrics are confusing and can be misleading, even for someone who understands what is being tracked and recorded. I've had a lot of good luck getting press releases picked up using this service. Hitting the wire is an invaluable tool, and it's led to additional contacts from places I'd never plan to contact otherwise.

It's a very expensive tool. At times, it gets nearly cost-prohibitive. Also, the word count is insane - I understand that if it were a traditional wire, there would be a need to cut the word count down for transmission, but as an E-service, there is absolutely no need for a word count other than to balloon the price.
