The BCC email function for tracking activity with journalists. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The reporting features. I would like to see more visuals and less text in reports. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I use the PR software through Vocus and I love this product. It is easy to navigate and the media lists are excellent. They give you a ton of contacts that you would not normally have. It is a wonderful tool and I would be lost without it! The daily news email I get about my industry and competition is great to have. It helps me to know what is going out there, and I can read it quickly in the morning. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Sometimes I get a lot of bounce backs when submitting a list for a press release distribution. I think the contacts on Vocus should be updated more frequently. When I get a lot of bounce backs it makes me question the validity of these email lists. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

It's very easy to use. I like the Press Release analyzer feature. It lets me know how effective my release is and what I can do to make it better. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I have an employee who also publishes press releases from my account and she has to overwrite all of my contact information every time. It would be nice if the system saved more than one user profile per account. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Access to reporter contact info, as well as descriptions from reporters on their beats and interests. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I feel like the media tracking abilities could be more robust. There are stories we catch via Google and Twitter searches that Cision misses. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Simple to navigate, provides direct access to key decision makers, has wide and deep database of multimedia outlets to approach/pitch. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Some of the contact info is out of date. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Cision is a great tool for PR professionals to build and keep media lists updated. It also makes emailing editors and bloggers press information fast and easy. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There's really nothing I dislike with the service. Sometimes I find a contact that needs to be updated and send in new info. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The capability is fantastic, with plenty of media reach and the ability to easily distribute to a larger network. You can create and save lists for future use and link your social networks.

It's not a very intuitive product. Also the amount of times that the companies have rebranded and created separate log-ins and a very disjointed experience overall. Occasionally I get poor connectivity and we've lost PR and distributions because there's no auto-save!!! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The online submission form is extremely easy and quick to use. It was easy to train other employees on, and it takes the guesswork out of tracking down the correct contact list for a given press release. We got increasingly better traction with our announcements with each submission. I loved how quickly I would get a phone call confirming my submission and getting it reviewed by their team. This saved me so much time! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There is not an easy way to see how many releases you have left in your package when you sign a contract for one. I have to email our rep each time I want to check. I did not like the options when uploading a picture - we have free online photo hosting with our package but it is not an option you could select during online photo submission, so I have to select a default one and add comments each time. Our office uses the media database constantly to find specific journalists and publications so that we can best target those in the industry that will be most interested in our client's news. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
When distributing news releases, I don't like the time it takes to wait for a test email to come through so that I can see what my news release will look like once distributed. However, our office recently upgraded to a different platform within Cision, therefore this issue should be resolved going forward. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
That it has print, web and broadcast all in one. Ease of sending PRWeb releases. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The interface is terrible, ugly and counterintuitive. I expected a learning curve when we started with Vocus, but holy cow. All the other users on the account are struggling too. And we took training sessions.
The customer service is maddening. I got personalized service every step of the way before signing a contract, and then it quickly disappeared. Now I have to use a general support number or email address, and I get a different person each time. Then I have to re-explain the problems all over again. My account executive does nothing but tell me to contact support or take training classes.
There are a lot of glitches. Daily emails touting video clips that don't match up with the text excerpts. Bouncebacks in my releases. The difficulty finding and saving clips for easy retrieval in the future. False media hits for other St. Mary's universities. It's easier for me to use Google Alerts most of the time.
I also dislike the fact that Cision doesn't gather clips from publications I was told it would gather clips from.
And what good is the social media component? Hootsuite is better.
Didn't get the kind of response when I used PRWeb for the first time, but I'll give it another shot.
