As a developer I feel the best thing about Cincom CPQ is its architecture which allows easy and fast integrations with other CRM's and ERP (Enterprise Resources Planning) applications.
Cincom CPQ enables Point and Click configurations which doesn't need an expert software programmer at all to do the product implementations.
Other than above managing Prices according various locations is much more easier with Cincom CPQ.
Cincom CPQ also supports multi language document printing engine which definitely help to print sales offers and order documents in customer's regional language. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
As a developer i am satisfied with Cincom CPQ application features but it would be great if help documents regarding the upgrades of Cincom CPQ product must be provided which will enable developer much faster product implementations. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Best part of Cincom was the customisation as per our requirement.
Great tool to collect details and gathering collective reports Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There were too many tabs to change which sometimes confuses end users in initial phase Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Cincom is very flexible on tool where things have been modified in order to suit our requirements. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Sometimes, it corrupts the data or crashes that becomes annoying. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The whole program is 'open': back end and front end are fully customizable, of course you must know what you are doing Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The new CSP is totally different from the previous one. Due to the introduction of web services , it' s mandatory to rewrite part of the code Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The integration with Dynamics CRM was very important to us, as was the ability to generate models, rules and UI without writing any code. We have been able to style our UI to mimic CRM giving the impression to the user that they use using one system. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There is some limitation in the UI designer. This can be overcome but it requires coding knowledge. Whilst you don't necessarily need to be a developer to build models and rules, you do need a certain set of skills and way of thinking that does lend itself to people from an IT or engineering background. Model builder allows the user to embed the logic behind the rules into the system rather than hard program matches. This reduces the amount of future maintenance. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The current version requires customisation to pass information through between the different system areas (this is being addressed in the next release). Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Ease of use is by far the best part. The system uses a drag and drop process that eliminates typos. Additional, the system allows the customization of pages which will allow you to design a page that fits your companies need. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Not much to dislike about this product. Guess if one thing had to be selected I'd say the web browser limitation is a headache. By limitation, what happens is when a tree becomes to large the web browser freezes and crashes. I understand that's on the web browser but it would be nice if the system did not allow a tree to become big enough to allow the crash to happen. This is a very repeatable feature which means they should have the ability to account for it and prevent it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The graphical interface for the rule builder without the need to write code, and the user interface in which sales people can configure their recommended product and easily identify incompatible combinations. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Our requirements are complicated, resulting in very complex rules. This is not the fault of the software, but of our project. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Aside from the obvious benefits of CPQ functionality, the native integration with Dynamics CRM is a huge plus Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The workload of managing the supporting pricing models needs to be carefully considered before deciding to implement. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
That if I have any problems with Cincom CPQ, the CPQ team at Cincom is ready to help fix the problem. Also, they are open to suggestions for other functionality in future versions of the CPQ. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I am currently using version 3.75 of the CPQ and most of the issues me and my team have encountered are being addressed in version 4.5. The one thing I have seen when previewing 4.5 is that I cannot have multiple entities open at the same time in the same window. Other than the issue mentioned in the previous sentence there has been nothing else that I have seen that would cause me to dislike the Cincom CPQ. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
