Carbon Black EDR is an incident response and threat hunting solution designed for security teams with offline environments or on-premises requirements. Carbon Black EDR continuously records and stores comprehensive endpoint activity data, so that security professionals can hunt threats in real time and visualize the complete attack kill chain. Top SOC teams, IR firms and MSSPs have adopted Carbon Black EDR as a core component of their detection and response capability stack. Carbon Black EDR is available via MSSP or directly via on-premises deployment, virtual private cloud or software as a service.

What do you like best about Carbon Black EDR?

What do you like best about Carbon Black EDR?

Detections are very details, extremely granular logs.

Does not hog system resources like some other AV solutions.

What do you dislike about Carbon Black EDR?

Integration with VMware's own Workspace ONE MDM was a pain. We cannot set it up it without help from the vendor. VMware should think about merging both their MDM and EDR into single console. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

CB gives good malware protection againsts our devices including Macs, Windows and linux (ubuntu and redhat only)

What do you like best about Carbon Black EDR?

1. The GUI of the VMware Carbon Black EDR is good.

2. The agent/sensor deployment was easier. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Carbon Black EDR?

1. Bad vendor support.

2. Wasn't able to detect and prevent a number of attacks.

3. A number of issues were observed with their agent/sensor. Issues like blue screen of death, high CPU utilization, bypassed agent, high disk space utilization etc.

4. Limited functionalities in their console.

One of Carbon Black's advantages is that its platform goes beyond cyberattack defence and enables endpoint detection and reaction, a more sophisticated form of cybersecurity. (EDR). It might impact computer performance and also needs more defensive abilities.

What do you like best about Carbon Black EDR?

It is compatible with IOS systems which is very rare in comparison to other VMware. It is easy to install and works smoothly without any hassle. I'm happy to use it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Well it is hard to say that VMware Carbon Black EDR has any downside, but yes after installation sometimes it takes time to open other operating systems in IOS system. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Carbon Black EDR?

Process level tree visualization and also banning the hashes very quickly to spread the lateral movement of the attack and also we have provision to create new feeds as per the threat hunting data. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I didn't find any negetive part of it so far. But It would be really great if process tree structure can be enhanced to provide more artefacts in single click. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
