Canvas AI helps me quickly open-ended responses into categories and adjust the grouping codes in real time. There are also many different views/graphics that I can use of the data to provide to clients. The AI Story Assist feature is really helpful in leveraging AI to help easily craft a narrative for a dataset. Overall, Canvs AI is a helpful too to start grouping and thinking about datasets in different ways in a quick manner. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Sometimes I wish the AI was more adaptive and could take similar words that might be slightly misspelled and put them all in the same grouping. There is still a fair bit of manual coding, but it saves a lot of time compared to using tools like excel to analyze unstructured data. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Canvs has made analysis of open ended text data so much easier and allowed us to dive deeper with our customers. I'm loving the storyAssist feature. They have continued to evolve the functions and no storyAsssit can provide narrative including demographic call outs. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I love everything, but want more features! It would be great if the StoryAssist feature could give responses by variables/demos/etc. *Update as of 5/20/24 they have implemented my reccomendation of more features showing how they truly take feedback back to the product team to evolve the offering. Canvs AI is easy to use, quick to set up, and facilitates analysis that would otherwise be much more manual. The support team is super helpful and responsive and product teams seem to be constantly releasing new features to improve the software. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
No real downsides of using Canvs. If utilized properly it will have a positive impact on your research process. AI in general is not perfect and as a result the software may at times improperly code a verbatim or miss out on a topic of interest. However, this is true of any any tool in the market. The Canvs team is incredibly open to feedback and the product does make it easy to code and re-code verbatim for topics or emtions. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Canvs AI is helpful for processing verbatims from consumer studies, rather than relying on someone manually coding this data. I like being able to upload the data myself, filter through responses and re-code as needed, and export as pivot tables or tree maps. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
A few things I wish we could do are:
- allow clients we share the page with to ask questions of the AI Story Assist (they cannot currently do this, so they have to email me to ask me to ask the AI questions)
- change names of filters/items in the filter (such as sample names) after the data set is uploaded to Canvs
- edit the tree maps within Canvs. Currently, I export and then do quite a bit of editing in PowerPoint so they fit the client's report template, and it would be nice to be able to do this within Canvs
- be able to export a pivot table of topics, as I feel like this is closer to what our clients are looking for than the nets/codes output Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
What I like best about Canvs AI is that it's able to analyze open-ended survey responses in fast speed. It categorized the themes and extracted insights from large volumes of from open-ended responses which significantly saved my time. The AI categorization isn't always accurate. Sometimes it misclassifies the open-ended responses and I would have to correct the codes manually. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I absolutely love using Canvs AI! It has cut my open-end coding time down by so much. I can easily pull out key themes and topics from massive lists of open ended survey responses. The only thing I would like to see from Canvs AI in the future is some sort of data analysis (quant) tool or feature built into the platform. This would make Canvs a one-stop-shop for data analysis needs. Everything else has been superb so far and exceeded my expectations. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
What I like the most is the confidence that I’m truly understanding what our guests are telling us and not somehow influenced by my biased an previous professional experience (which we know worsens with experiences as we lose the early “freshness” on our perception and ability to notice “the paint stains in the company walls”. What is not so good is sometimes having the feeling you're dealing with a toddler when trying several approaches and ways of asking the same thing to get the AI to understand what you reaaly want to know. Having suggestions on what to ask next and the way to ask it helps in this.
As for potential risks of using the tool, they could very well be turning managers / analysts a little numb and / or distracted about important, pertinent, revealing opinions of key (yet individualized or very few) guests / customers that get hidden in the “big pool” of all the data. Having Canvs AI has made including more open-ended questions in the research I do for my customers so much easier - and because of that, I get better insights. Emotional ones that help me craft strategy and messaging that works for my clients.
The new AI Story features have really saved me time too. Canvs AI is always innovating and improving their product, which I really appreciate.

It gives you an idea about what people said in the survey, you can see if they understood the question correctly and if they found something disturbing in it.
