Cadency by Trintech Pros and Cons

The Certification Module (account reconciliations) works really well and provides plenty of configurabiliy for just about any large business. The other modules {Journals, Match, Close, Compliance} seemlessly work together to achieve a great outcome for enterprises to manage the entire Close process. Trintech is doing a lot more to communicate webinars and other training/learning opporutnities out to the user group, so End-Users can sign-up on their own and learn about various features within the application. It is easy to access, you can upload your policies, it is a quality implementation, it is used daily for all types of policies, there is good customer support, it provides us with thousands of functions to download reports. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The disadvantage I find is that you cannot make many records of certain accounts because they do not have a specific pattern or character that can be carried out as is done in SAP. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

It is a very user friendly tool, for journal entry posting processes, which are visible directly in the local ERP, as well as the tools to make automatic reversals or to be able to search for a specific JE even if you do not have the user who made it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Some of the new changes in visual for example in Reconciliation, I think it was very friendly before. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The match tool has been able to automatically match 90%+ of our Point of Sale to our Bank statements daily. The ease of data translation and creating match rules gave us the ability to maximize the amount of transactions that get reconciled automatically. This allows our team to spend most of there time to research and handle data discrepancies. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

A couple downsides of Cadency revolve around the custom data imports. When is comes to international data files; our data often needs the transaction dates shifted a day. There currently isn't any functionality to allow this in the custom import definitions or import translations. Also, regarding international files, we have some data files that have 2-3 different headers. We've not been able to find a way to correctly import those files into Match without manipulating the data ourselves first. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The user interface is outdated and can be cumbersome and not very intuitive. Customer support tends to be slow, there are challenges with complex integrations, and reporting capabilities have limitations, making it difficult to extract necessary information in a user-friendly format. Certification

Certification is an excellent piece of the puzzle to our overall balance sheet. It has been great to standardise the reconciliation process within our companies and have a strict Quality Assurance process in place.

CLOSE

We have not used CLOSE to its full potential yet, and we are about to implement stage 2 of the project, which will help us deliver a proper close. Genuinely excited about our future CLOSE process.

JE

JE has been great to implement. We have just had year-end, and it went so smoothly due to JE. It gives us more control over the approval process and stops skipping procedures.

Support

The support teams are fantastic, and being split between Europe and the States, you have access to them all the time. They do what they say they will do, when they says it. As an admin user I am in the system all the time. The changes/upgrades on the whole and been really good for us. I feel the reporting could be much more intuitive. It can be difficult to get all the information you need in one report. We can adapt to it when it would be much easier if it adapted to us. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Sometimes the technical support team don't really understand the issue and I have to keep explaining which can be frustrating. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What stands out to me in Cadency is how it lets you tweak things quite a lot. The setup is detailed, while the end user processes can be very simple. Processes like Matching and Certification can be completed quickly and easily by the end-users if the setup is completed and controlled properly. On the flip-side, the simplicity and ease of use can catch you out. It is very easy to run through some of the training available and think you have it figured out only to find 90% of the way through a new account setup that you have forgotten something seemingly small that will send you right back to the start.
