Builder.ai Pros and Cons

nothing whatsoever, all promise. What we got was incomplete, riddled with issues, and completely unusable that took well over a year to produce. Even independent auditors called it one of the worst products they’ve ever reviewed. It was clear Builder.ai either lacks the expertise to deliver or simply doesn’t care about their customers. Despite countless attempts to address the issues, Builder.ai ignored my concerns and deflected responsibility at every turn. They are unresponsive, evasive, and unwilling to acknowledge their failures.

Their incompetence has cost me significant time, money and resources. The incomplete product they struggled to deliver was so bad that I couldn’t use it, and they’ve refused to refund the money we paid in good faith. Their actions have had a devastating impact on my business.

Builder.ai has tried to justify their failures by referencing irrelevant contractual clauses, which is just another way of avoiding responsibility. It’s insulting to think they believe this is acceptable. All the positive reviews posted here are fake and created by employee's...there is a long line of unhappy customers who are taking legal action against Builder.

The team is experienced and provides support. The builder dashboard is easy to use and tracks the status of the project. The weekly meeting happens regularly and the quality of releases is good. The thing I like best about Builder AI has been the excellent team they have. My producologost Joost has been like having a technical cofounder throughout the build. Going above and beyond to ensure the project is a success both technically and commercially. Communication is the cornerstone of any successful partnership, and Joost has excelled in this aspect. The positive experience we've had as a team. The best thing about our experience was our project manager, Tamer. He has been amazing! Our business is very unique to the region and absolutely nothing around like it. Tamer understood the project from the outset and has made valuable and insightful contributions throughout the development of the website. At each weekly meeting, he has taken us through developments from the previous week and addressed our questions promptly and with clarity. He has been open to constructive criticism and has been eager to understand our specific concerns and requirements in order to make the website a positive experience for both its users and its administrators. The project with Builder.ai was a disaster through and through.

They work in a waterfall method with Project Managers serving as gatekeepers, preventing you from having access to any developer to iterate faster. You didn't hear from the team for days and suddenly they requested last-minute information without any explanation and if you didn't send them within 1-2 days, they would delay project delivery for 1-2 weeks and would say it was the client's fault. Our project was delayed by more than 4 months due entirely to Builder's lack of professionalism and organization. The code they shipped was not tested at all and they took weeks to correct bugs.

The internal tools Builder.ai has do not work. Their AI agent constantly sends you random emails, it's extremely hard to find any information on the platform and everything seems to be built to increase bureaucracy and to protect Builder.ai from liability from their terrible results.

The Finance team is particularly chaotic. We were charged wrongly multiple times, spent weeks chasing invoices and had to scale up to the CFO level to get an invoice that matched the payments we did.

We eventually had to cancel the project, because of the multiple delays and we could not use any of the code developed. We asked Builder.ai to refund us for the features they hadn't started working on but they refused.
