What do you like best about CA Unified Infrastructure Management?

Managing tickets by group and configuration item makes it very easy to understand the impact of incoming tickets, especially in cases where one group of people shares responsibilities across multiple systems. Additionally, the automatic logs help me get up to speed on tickets that had been worked prior to coming to my group's queue. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about CA Unified Infrastructure Management?

Because everything opens in a new tab, I often feel like CA is taking over my entire browser. Additionally, I find the workflow to search for anything backward in terms of how I would naturally go about something. It's likely custom to my institution's CA instance, but the labels used for various stages are not particularly descriptive of what the stage really means, which results in a lot of mis-categorized tickets. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is CA Unified Infrastructure Management solving and how is that benefiting you?

I use CA to respond to user requests, for change management (approvals prior to moving items to production), and to report incidents and problems. My organization has over 800 people working in IT, and CA is the main system we use to communicate with our end users (60,000+ students and 20,000-ish employees). What do you like best about CA Unified Infrastructure Management?

Wide range of probes with different monitoring functionality. Its a single tool capable to monitor system, network, application, database, storage, Vcentre and more Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about CA Unified Infrastructure Management?

The complexity of the probes, few probes like hitachi, vcentre probes will hang when you choose more parameters to monitor.

Network topology, doesnt have capability to detect the ACI device connectivity as this doesn't support LLDP. Cannot edit the topology manually to show the connections. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is CA Unified Infrastructure Management solving and how is that benefiting you?

This tool is used mostly for live monitoring and performance monitoring, used for capacity management. Live monitoring easy to detect the high cpu, memory, log errors and service down alerts, network related like interface down, response time useful to identify the issues.
